Could have used this tip last week

The new world is abuzz with talk about Poland's decision to go through Russia to reach China. , this subject has been covered phenomenally well by Shoi and New Faustian Man. Because of this I will only be providing a short synopsis of the situation before moving on to my typical format, if you would like to learn more I highly suggest reading either of the two papers I linked above.
Poland has decided to attack Russia for one simple reason, the complete and utter destruction of EDEN. What does Russia, a country that isn't even in EDEN have to do with this? They lie between Poland and China, which is EDEN's last real military bastion, and where many of their communes operate. Without China and its 10/10 bonus there will simply be no feasible way for EDEN to recover. To support this operation Serbia and FYROM lie in wait in the Middle East, ready to open another front against China should the need arise. There was some controversy when the Poles first NE'd Russia about what the United States and CoT's reaction would be. Since then president Vanek has made it clear that the United States will stand with Russia, however CoT's position regarding this conflict remains unclear.



North America



The North American continent is quiet for now, Canada seems to be biding their time, waiting for the opportune moment to strike back at their Spanish occupiers. The United States is currently focusing on aiding its brother in arms, Russia, against Poland. The president of the United States has stated that the countries highest priority right now should be on battles between Russia and Poland. Mexico remains occupied with suppressing their neighbor to the south, Columbia. Mexico remains in firm control of most of Columbia despite Columbia's recent baby boom. Columbia currently has a population of just over 27000, whether these new players will stay on long enough to pay Mexico back for their aggression is something we will have to wait to see.

South America



As mentioned above the Columbian conflict is still ongoing in South America, aside from that the only major conflict is that between Argentina/Bolivia against Chile, Peru, and Paraguay. At the moment the combined CHilean, Peruvian, and Paraguayan force hold the advantage. However as we have seen time and time again throughout this conflict the pendulum of victory is ever swinging from one side to the other.

Africa and the Middle East



As per usual nothing interesting is happening in South Africa (no offense South Africa, but you've been semi occupied by Brazil or Indonesia for pretty much the last 5 years) however there is some interesting stuff going on in the Middle East. Bulgaria, (who has nearly lost all their European territories) Serbia, FYROM, and Russia are all currently maintaining decent sized colonies in the Middle East. Bulgaria's and Serbia's colonies coming from Egypt, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, while Russia and FYROM more or less split Iran, with FYROM moving their capital to the United Arab Emirates in recent days. Because of Poland's recent declaration of war against Russia we may see Russia lose their colonies as they focus on defending the motherland from Polish aggression. In the coming weeks we could see either FYROM or Serbia begin to move through Pakistan in order to open a second front against China.

Europe



In Europe we continue to see the domination by CoTWO forces on the rest of Europe. Portugal, Sweden, Finland, France, Germark, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, The Netherlands, Italy, and Ukraine are all under at least partial occupation by CoTWO. However in the last day or so we have seen a huge number of resistance wars open up against CoTWO in light of Poland's decision to go to war with Russia. It is likely the hope of these resistance fighters that CoTWO will over reach in their attempt to conquer China and thus open the door for them to begin freeing their homelands. Poland's first strike against Russia came against the region of Kaliningrad, Polish forces were successful in routing all enemy forces despite a staunch resistance by Russian and American troops.

Asia



The United States operations against Taiwan have stopped in anticipation of the battles to be fought against Poland in Russia. China silently prepares for what will be a fight not just for its survival, but the survival of an entire alliance, one which has survived in erepublik longer than any other. China will not be alone in this fight, Croatia sits ready in its Indian colonies to stop any foe that may try to force its way through the Middle East to open up a second front against China.

Australia and Oceania



Australia continues to be under occupation by Indonesian and Chilean forces as they have been for quite a while now. Its likely to stay like this for quite sometime considering the large difference in strength between Australia and Chile/Indonesia, especially considering the breakdown in Australian/American relations. Also of note is the fact that if CoT decides to then Indonesia could open up a third front against China by moving through the Phillippines.
