eRep in Maps Day 763, December 21st 2009 | Silent Night Edition

Day 763, 01:00 Published in USA South Africa by Brendan E Austerion
Cartographer's Note: I'm going to keep interjecting through this, so bear with me 😛 It's called Silent Night edition because it's close to Christmas, and it's a relatively quiet day after the massive battle of Liaoning. We're all cooling off... and having a silent night...

As usual, let me start by saying you must visit eGobba's World Map. This tool is invaluable to anyone, especially in helping me try and collect the visual representation of what the heck is going on in eRep.

In order to understand these maps here is the legen😛

Yesterday's Article

Editor's note

Today's eRep in Maps is published here in The Mapping Standard. Tomorrow's article is published in our editor's, Guolin's, newspaper eRep in Maps.

Yesterday, several readers donated USD to us, and we appreciate the donations. Again, the donations are completely optional. In fact, Guolin will donate 50% of ALL donations to the eUSA Welcoming Committee. 'Tis the season to be giving...

Cartographer's Note: Firstly, I am NOT South African IRL, I live in Asia. Secondly, yesterday's edition stated that I figured that the Hwangae attack and retreat by North Korea could have been a landswap- it should have read "initiative swap". My apologies. Lastly, I am not mapping the end of the four battles in which France attacked Spain (though I did map the attack) because I am this close to throwing my computer out the window in frustration. Anyway....

Europe

The French really really want their land back, and attacked FOUR originally French but now Spanish territories: Poitou Charentes, Languedoc Roussillon, Auvergne, and Limousin. I wonder if the limo was invented in the last territory, because if it was, I think the French were prompted to recover it due to a limo shortage. eWeddings are important, ya know.

Cartographer's Note: I was going to put something saying "Serious Business" with the lulz sign and arrow pointing to each battle, but I was too annoyed after making the map to do it. :/ Sorry

Ruse was secured by Bulgaria. For Romania was javrix, his first! For Bulgaria was the Russian toborggreen, his first as well.

After being handed back and forth between several nations a couple of times, Bratislava is now under Hungarian occupation. BH for Hungary was ropi21, his very first. BH for Slovakia was the Polish BuzzY, his sixth.

Rhone Alps was secured by Spain. For France was TorJado, a Russian getting his fifth. For Spain was Durruti, the top citizen in Spain gaining his 21st!

Lastly, the unmapped image referred to earlier in the article. Poitou Charentes was conquered by the French, but Limousin, Auvergne and Languedoc Roussillon were secured, though all had been slightly underground I believe several minutes before attack-end. A last-minute effort by Spain in the three secured regions? (This last bit was reported by myself as it ended around day-change.)

Middle East

Greece attacked Aegean Coast of Turkey to keep initiative as Turkey secured Mediterrean Coast of Turkey. Wow, exactly same as yesterday except locations were flipped. The BH for Greece was pankskiny, his second. For Turkey was hukukcu, his first. (So many firsts today, 😮)

Israel attacked Mediterrean Coast of Turkey after the Greece battle was secured.

Asia

After the epic battle of Liaoning (and after this paper was published), the RW in Ryanggang was successful. In fact, EDEN tanks, after seeing that Liaoning was destined to be victorious in favor of the US, moved to Iran to fight for the resistance. The BH for red was henker, an US Marine with Canadian citizenship- his fourth, and for green was KhOrzU, a Serbian with his fourth as well. In addition, the resistance in Changang was ALSO successful, making this a PHOENIX triple epic fail. For red was Publius, an US Marine with Uruguay citizenship- his third, and for green was Sardar Mehdi, an Iranian winning his very first.

W00t for American mobile forces!

P.S. This wipes Iran out of East Asia, preventing Iran from initiating counterattack upon Liaoning and messing things up for America's war effort, so while the regions themselves are worth little the strategic value of this victory is great.

Tibet was secured by the US- they decided it was better to be under US occupation than Chinese occupation. (The Tibetan protestors are successful at last) For red was veaicm, a South Korean gaining his ninth. For green was axllyne, a Serbian gaining her 40th!

Brazil attacks South Australia as Queensland was secured by Australia. For Brazil was Jazar, with one of each medal + 5 BH's. For Australia was Calangao, a South Korean with his first.

Shandong was secured by USA. For China was mAonK, a Serbian gaining his 64th! 😮 For the US was axllyne, a Serbian gaining her 41st, her second today!

Training Wars

Oblivious to the wonderful world events, the Filipinos and the Malaysians have at it in Sabah, having just evolved to lasertag.

Votes, comments and subscribes are always appreciated 😃

Thanks for reading! If you wouldn't mind, could you vote up the touring edition? It's in Finland today!

EDIT: By the way, some of the images seem oddly blurry today. I'll try to fix this 😉
