Through the Looking-Glass

As usual, let me start by saying you must visit eGobba's World Map. This tool is invaluable to anyone, especially in helping me try and collect the visual representation of what the heck is going on in eRep.

In order to understand these maps here is the legend:

While I fixed the maps, yesterday I accidentally mapped an attack by Sweden as coming from Norway. I swear that I do in fact know the difference between Norway and Sweden, having actually been to Sweden myself! I can not explain why I made such an error but feel I should post a correction here indicating that I know the difference between Sweden and Norway:

* Canada liberated British Columbia from the French. One of their first acts was to start taking down the signs at the border that declared 'Bienvenue au Français-Columbia'. The hero for Canada was Dean22, a Canadian national. The French hero was cobanoglu, a Turkish citizen.


* Russia attacked Maine, one of the US's last states, and the last one Russia borders. Me and the lobsters fear the worst for my beloved Maine. And we were right to as...
* The President of the USA retreated from Maine. The North is lost, and for a short while the US was down to just Floria. The Russian hero was kurtkbain, an Argentinian. The American hero was Bic deWille, a Swede. The president did this because while under Russian attack the US would be unable to launch any further attacks, according to game mechanics. This would mean that when the battle in Alabama closed, we would be vulnerable to attack from Portugal or Indonesia. As it was...


* The US captured Alabama in the war vs Portugal. The Portuguese hero was Russian tank parter, who we have seen a lot of in this war. The US hero was the President of the US, Emerick. Immediately after...
* The US attacked Louisiana, currently occupied by Indonesia. Whether this is the start of a long campaign, or designed to apply pressure to an Indonesian congress tired of war to sign the peace treaty I can't say.
* The Result of all this is that the US no longer has a border with Russia, has initiative over Indonesia, and a 24 hour block that prevents Portugal from attacking the US.

Europe
is quieter.

* Latvia returned to their training war in Samogitia, Lithuania, after having walked almost the whole way home before realizing they forgot their keys.


* A resistance was started in Galicia by the Spanish Field Marshal docjones. This region borders the southeastern seaboard of Portuguese Dixie and also Florida.
* Aragon has been successfully reclaimed by Spain, and with that we end our long series of puns comparing Aragon to Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. Cast off like the One Ring to be sundered in the Cracks of Doom, we release these tacky jokes back whence ... wait, you say you get it? Okay, moving on. The battle hero for France was the Croatian Filurkatten, in it for the award. He won his first award just yesterday, fighting for the Spanish in the liberation of Cantabria. The Spanish hero was XuCoOo, who also started this resistance war.

Asia

* Eastern Thailand was defended by Malaysia in a resistance war started by a new incarnation of the former Indonesian president, Masila - it is believed that this character had been sold, and Masila currently has South Korean citizenship. The battle hero for red was KuBu, an Indonesian who may have his own army. The battle hero for Malaysia was Alfagrem, who has Japanese citizenship but identifies with South Korea. Malaysia reports that the force organized against them was "...only a few Indonesian citizens looking to have some fun...", though it remains to be seen what happens in South Korean elections tomorrow.


* A resistance has started in Pyongan against Russia by the American citizen Jodoh. While this of course benefits the Americans during Russia's attack on Maine, Jodah himself took the time to announce his intentions as part of a group called Terminus Est to liberated North Korea as a nation and then sue for peace with PEACE and Russia.

Editor's further note
The base map file and the base blazon (those little action indicator things) resource file I use to make this article got corrupted part way through generating it, and I had to restore a backup that was fairly old. In doing so I had to repaint the map and redraw today's actions and recreate the blazons. If you see any mistakes made please let me know so I can correct the resources. I will also make more regular backups, which is something you would think I would do considering I'm a DBA and a programmer and I spout 'backups, backups, backups!' all day long at my clients.
