EMPIRES, DETERMINATION BUT SADLY.. NO MOTIVATION !!!!

Dear readers and fellow e-warriors,
with the introduction of these new elements ,
the game has finally managed to do what was after for so long
but couldn't succeed in it.
To destroy long-term occupation (of countries or merely sections
of countries) by the countries that are the super-powers of the game.
But let's start from the begining, we now have Empires !!
"Empires are countries that dominate the New World through their
extreme military power and vast territories.
In order to be declared as an Empire in eRepublik, a state needs to
gather enough Country Power..."
We had very strong countries in the past like Greece, Poland, Hungary,
China, USA etc. that were dominating on the eRepublik map.
Citizens in those countries were fighting hard wars in order to occupy
and retain sections of neigbouring countries under occupation, in order
to receive the production bonuses.
Heavy tanking had been used in order to do so, for economical, political
and ethnic reasons. Now the game has introduced 2 more motives.
First you get extra currency from the occupied regions and if you
have many of them occupied and you are a strong fighting force you
get to be a citizen of an Empire !!
Hmmmm......
And then comes the introduction of Determination !!
A brand new factor that severely influences battles against the oppressor..
A bonus in battle that ranges from 1x up to 6x making IMPOSSIBLE even for
the strongest and richest countries in eRepublik to retain hard-fought
conquests for a long time !!
Interesting !!
Just like William Wallace the game gives small countries a fighting chance:
In order to boost the morale of resistance fighters and their finances
the game has bee giving away moving tickets for cheaper access to RW
located anywhere on the map and 5 gold fro each Freedom Fighter medal
they get !!
All that was supposed to be boosting the world economy, with more expensive
weapons, higher wages, more expensive food, hence more profits for the
company owners, therefore the creation of more companies etc...
Also it was meant to create more fierce battles between oppressors and
conquered countries but it didn't !!
So far we have seen weapon prices and wages falling and the only thing that
keeps them at a decent level is the demand created from the Weekly Tournaments.
WHY ??
Because no-one seems willing to tank against a country with a high
Determination bonus only to lose it finally after a few weeks..
And not only that !!
Everybody is after the "easy" 5 gold reward from the Freedom Fighter medal
so nobody even tries to turn one of those RW around...
There is no motive !!
No sense in heavy tanking for a territory (which will only give you some
extra currency on a daily basis and a production bonus) you can just
wait and attack it after 12 days with no determination bonus !!
No motivation in declaring a country Empire !!
All that citizens get, is to see gold leafs under their country's flag
and a new background with the Imperial mansion and the Imperial guards !!
What is the gain for a country to be declared an Empire ??
Except the unsignificant extra income of taxes,
the ONLY thing that matters for a player are the bonuses
from the occupied territories !!
We already had that !!
WHY SHOULD WE FIGHT ???
WHAT DOES THE AVERAGE PLAYER HAS TO GAIN FROM THIS ??
If you want to see epic battles again and big interest from players
tanking and countries funding Combat Orders and increasing the demand
for weapons and food (thus boosting the economy) you should change
something !!
We suggest that as far as the Empire is concerned, there should be an
attack bonus in battles (for Empires) similar to, the Determination
bonus and/or an extra production bonus for the citizens of an Empire.
Although at first glance the changes made to the game, give it a rather
interesting twist that gives a solution to a long term stalemate,
we are very much concerned about how will that affect the game in general..

Good idea with that bonus for Empires. It would at least one motive to gain and preserve empire status.

why spend money to tank when in a few days the conquered country will have a determination bonus that will overcome any use of mastercards?
This was a clever way to free almost all countries in a few days ... but as the author says, what happens after that?

I love how they help Pakistan/India/Korea/Egypt/Arabia againest countries with a lot and real players 😛
Well one day Greece and the other countries will end up as those countries...All the active players will abandon the game since there is no point anymore....

Being an Empire is, by itself, motivation enough. And the money that come from the colonies are not bad either🙂 Now if a player cares only about the bonuses he receives when he presses the production buttons, then the changes are not good for him
If you want to be an Empire, that is now not only difficult with the new determination multipliers, not only extremely costly for the country citizens
but also definitevely downright unsunstainable !!
The income from the colonies is unsignificant towards the amounts of effort,
energy bars and gold that will have to be spent for this to happen...
And don't forget that your country as well loses from lost productivity bonuses...
Lost jobs, lost taxes etc......
It's not that simple..........
Well I can tell you for Greece it's relatively easy to stay an Empire, no need for more damage than a Greek is normally dealing, just by controlling middle east and rotating colonies properly😉 Poland and Serbia will also get back to Empire status pretty soon. The determination factor will have less importance in the future. You'll see that in a month we'll have again 4-6 empires, some of them sustainable🙂

CPs dont play for "motivation" or leaves, they play to win. And trying to hunt for Empire Status seem not to be a good idea.

The whole idea of the Determination bnus is to give advantage to the occupied countries, so their citizens could have a chance once in 2-3 months to liberate. And you ask to "balance" this with constant booster of the empires'citizens damage?
It is far more likely that the Determination booster would be enhanced, because au contraire your words only after 2 to 3 months of continuous occupation it becomes "IMPOSSIBLE even for the strongest and richest countries in eRepublik to retain hard-fought conquests for a long time !!"
This article is a big failure of mind. The major countries didnt lose almost anything but 12 days after the Determination update, but they became "Empire"-s at no cost. And you suggest to booster them?

I made a suggestion about how to make the game more interesting
with bigger battles and motivation for soldiers to push harder in
battles and make even more damage...
You are only happy because you got a chance to liberate yourselves

I admit I didnt read all you have written, but it is obvious you suggest the dominating powers to have more damage. According to me this will lead to even more solid Status Quo like the one before the Determination update.
For the record - we have liberated 3 of our 6 regions before the update.
And if you prefer to get personal - we will be wiped out many times in this game, but will Greece ever have Anatolia back? 🙂

I have no problem with the determinatio bonus as a principle, but i consider that only citizens of that conquered country should benefit from the determination and not everyone fighting.... This will decrease preasure on the conquering countries while still helping in time the weak ones, but it still motivates the weak to try getting a BBoom. In this case i don't think that Bulgaria would be descriminated by i don't see why countries with 200-300 citizens who never made an effort to grow their community would have the edge on top countries ( Bulgaria included again in a diferent scenario).
You are free to try, even you manage to succeed you will have a trojan horse many eBulgarian players on eGreek territory and that will be the end of your empire and freedom for all occupied regions from eGrece and so you're welcome to try 😃

Το παιχνίδι έγινε όντως πιο ενδιαφέρον. Απλά κατ'εμέ έπρεπε το determination bonus να τερματίζει γύρω στο 3%. Το 6% παραείναι μεγάλο.

Just add Q8 weapons, but not retarded "cost 2x more raw when compared to Q7, 20 uses" bullshit, but true Q8 that will cost you stuff.
