eIrelands population significantly droping
I have just noticed that Irelands population has significantly droped over the past few days. It has droped from over 500 to just 468(latest). So what i am saying is measures by the goverment to attract new citizens to ireland. I have a feeling the reason people are leaving are pleasant country is to fight in a few wars.
wats ur thoughts how can we attract citizens to ireland
wats ur thoughts how can we attract citizens to ireland

the population is decreasing because inactives are dieing off
@Kiemar: you're right, but that doesn't change the fact that we still need to attract new active citizens to Ireland
We have limited options unfortunately. We cannot attract immigrants due to our weak economy, which is also causing new players to leave due to insufficent funds to survive.
I think that one of the best way to keep new players in at this point is to raise the citizen fee slightly. When we have an efficent new workforce, we can then attract immigrants.
Our citizen fee plus beginner wages will get our new citizens to the point where they can sustain themselves. So long as they work everyday. And thats with the lowest wages in human resources.
Sad news... another 40 people are on the queue to death, all with 0 wellness!
theus raising the citizen fee will only make them stay a bit longer, its a short term oatch job, we need a long term fix.
The population of eIreland, from what i've seen compared to other countries so far, is incredibly low - However, many wars are going on and i think it would be good to advertise that eIreland is neutral and will accept immigrants etc, for those whom want to get away from the wars (like i did)
Do most citizens want to get away from wars? From what I can tell, many people enjoy fighting. I think we'd have MORE citizens if we were involved in a war.
Then in that case, it would be best if we joined with the UK.
Declare a war or something, that will probably rise the population.
No chance of that happening though!
Dont worry,my job this month is to get new citizens to join Ireland,Ive been quite busy lately but from this weekend I will be pushing hard to encourage new recruits!
Well ive taken it upon myself to run around all the usual forums and get some people here!
Also due to wonderful tracking we have 200 citizens who have worked in the past week! This is good news in itself!
Also with huuuuuge thanks to collins im not able to see who our new citizens are, this means i can pass on the info to mac, and she can ensure that our new citizens remain with us!
not? I'm sure you mean now* lol
The game has been carrying alot of dead citizens for a while, some changes have meant that they are now beginning to propoerly drop off the radar when they die.
Check Collins great stats page
http://statistics.erepublik-ie.com/index.php
You can see the UK has lost 526 citizens and gone from 3956 to 3430 in the last week.
In the last week we have gone from 516 to 477
I just started two days ago and i am saving money to move on. I would like to stay but. First of all, money is not very good here. looking at the gold to money rate it seems like i would never own my own business staying here. and two we do not seem involved in the eworld very much. I am not saying starting a war. but how is our exports and world affairs. we have the ability to trade with anyone since we are netural, but it seems like our economy is not taking advantage of this fact. Looking at our market it seems like we have no guns above a Q1 besides guns from other countries and Kings Bazooka's that doesnt actually seem to be selling anywhere. With all the wars going on in the world we need guns on the market as well as wood. I know it is too much to ask for defense systems right now how our economy is but if we get wood to the countries that need to build defense systems than they will buy it up. the guns is easy the govenment sponsers a Q5 country to go into war zones and set up base. if we put our money into a few companies than we can sell them cheaper. There are a few other ideas that i have but these are the major ones. I might be way off, since again, this is only my 3rd day.
@Yesmarian, firstly welcome to Ireland, be sure to check out or forums and IRC . You will have enough cash to start a business, you will get 5g when you reach level 6, and then 5g each of the 30 days you work. Also bare in mind that usually once you get to around level 3 in skill, you earn more than your food costs.
In regards to Guns, Ireland itself is surrounded by UK, USA and Canada, all of which we are friendly with, we would be insane to attack them, so quite liturally, we have to wait for someone insane to attack one of them! So really theres no need for guns here, thus, they are mostly exported to countrys at war. Defense systems follow exactly the same as guns, no war, no need for Defense.
Looks like you got some good ideas there tho, once you reach level 7, you can join a political party, and at 12 you can run for congress! shouldnt take you too long, but be sure to jump on the forums and IRC, alot of discussion about all kinds of subjects goes on over there!
Yes I understand that is what i was saying. We do not need any weapons in our own country but exporting them is a fantastic idea. Guns, wood, and iron exported will help us. but let me hop on the forums before i say too much what is already known.
Also is there any way to see what we export and to where or can you only see the gold amount of our exports?

Wish we had wood...
Looks like we have grown a little... 20 new people in the past 24hrs according to my tracking!
Well if we do declare war it is very likely that people from other countries will flock here, but as soon as the war ends, they are just as likely to leave, thereby tremendously screwing up our economy. We can't attract people with an economy like India's now can we?
dr ogres we cant start a war, all out bordering nations would annihilate us if we tried for one and two we try to keep relations with our neighbors civil not hostile. We can only war with bordering regions.
The single biggest reason for the big drop off in the last few days is Christmas!! People tend to log on when in work and a lot of people have been off for nearly 2 weeks. Health drops rapidly over that period and then people can't be bothered getting back into it.
Suggestion for the leaders - try and contact those with really low health and see if you can give them a boost. That will get them back in no time..
As mentioned, Christmas has done its impact. This trend is fairly global so there is not so much you can do really. Also, if people do not bother to log in, they cannot see that gift-based aid is available, but a small-scale program could still be initiated and advertised on the forum.
The problem is that there is nothing that distinguishes eIreland as a place worth living in; the economy is not in the best of conditions, there in no interesting military development (even if that only attracts temporary citizens) and there is no government system of importance that cannot be found elsewhere.
To change the negative trend, we must find something truly unique that will interest peoples. Old fashion lying is not so ineffective either.
I remember in the “ould days” that eIreland had an effective campaign promoting the possibilities and great job offers in the developing economy. It rhetorically well-structured, and in the end, it proved somewhat effective. And the arriving citizens made the promise come true themselves.
We might not be in the same position today, but it proves that the way to go is to be a visible in the media and speak to the people’s dreams. When the economy is not an option for a campaign, we should probably focus of “eIreland, a land of Peace and Stability” (neutrality in itself is not going to attract people) and “eIreland, where you can make a name for yourself”. Use the fact that we are a small country in a positive way, insinuating that politics are closer to the people and it is easier to accomplish something in politic, such as becoming a congressman/Teachta Dála, as there are fewer and more distinguishable people you can visibly compete with.
