Remaining PLA units fallback across no man's land


Twenty four hours after crossing into Heilongjiang, the supreme Eden commander has issued a general order to withdraw. Demoralized, and bloodied but not yet broken, the survivors force themselves to retreat over land they paid so high of price to take just hours earlier.


The fighting was savage for both sides,and for the 382nd infantry the unit we had been attached to was particularly hard as SGT Smith recalls. " For the 382nd the hardest thing to do was retreat. We had advanced quickly and took our objectives including the main road that led into the suburban zone. When our CO [Commanding officer] announced to us over the radio that Command had issued a withdraw order i couldn't believe it. We had lost so many good men taking what we did and we just gave it right back." Other Eden units fought heroic battles of their own, such as the Romanian tank corps who penetrated as far as the Urban district before the order to retreat was issued. In the end however, it was not enough.

General Gibson later stated that though the battle had been lost, it had not been for nothing. The Romanians who had been a day away from being cut off, had launched a counter-offensive and reclaimed all lost territory from Hungary." This alone would have been reason enough to attack Hello Kitty, but so much more was gained. The Greeks held off Phoenix near Sparta, and even secured a counter-operation to retake create. Tactically the battle of Hello Kitty was a minor setback, but strategically it once again shifted the war into Eden's favor."
