Money in this game is everything no matter what your focus is in. If you love the military aspect you need to get strong and need Gold to train and weapons to fight. If you love the business side of the game you need money to buy businesses and raw materials to build. Money makes the game more enjoyable and like real life in Erepublik, the rich get richer. Wealth accumulates more wealth without working or running businesses but using your money to earn money.
Here is an easy way to earn an extra 100IEP each week to use for whatever part of the game you like:
1. Monitor the Raw Material marketplace for both food and weapons. Food Raw Material normal price is 0.03 and Weapon Raw Material used to be 0.08 and now been closer to 0.07.
2. Understand that some people don’t care about raw material and dump it in the marketplace for a quick sale below the average price. When you login take the extra 30 seconds to check both the raw materials for any product for sale below the average sale price. If it is there, buy it.
3. You will need to buy up 10,000 quantity of Food or Weapon or a combination of both during the week and relist if for a 0.01 profit. So if you can get food for 0.02 relist it for 0.03, if you can get weapon raw material for 0.06 then relist it for 0.07.
4. 10,000 quantities in a week seems like a lot but remember generally raw material is sold over 1k at a time so really not that large of a number. Also, don’t plan to do it all at once, Buy what you can as it is available and relist right away.
5. There are no taxes on raw materials so what you earn, you keep.
Earning money takes time and patience so do this and repeat it week after week and over time you will be earning much more than 100 IEP a week and use this money to continue to invest in whatever you like OR buy more quantity of raw material each week.

You can make money on the monetary market too. Sell 10 gold (current price 360). Then sell the IEP for .003 gold (1 gold =333 IEP). If you wait long enough some of it will sell for a little profit. I did it once and it worked for me.

You can always purchase companies from the marketplace and turn around to sell them for a modest profit, as many players just want to get rid of them.
I find myself using these techniques quite often (especially the raw materials - easy profit).

Another way to make money is voting articles, you must enter the Voters Club. This works, they pay.

problem is with your strategy is that ppl keep on dumping stuff to the market and economic pressure will eventually see you selling the bought items at the same or below your buy price. For example you buy 10000 you need to buy all offers below that. You place your offer for 7 cent. Next guy again drops his stuff for 5 cent and on and on. After a few days your stuff still lie there unbought. Now some mission pops up and you have to sell it fast. Best strategy is to get your energy up and then have a shitload of factories where you sell stuff. As you produce your own food, raw materials and weapons it cost you nothing and is pure profit. what is more you can drop it at any price on the market.
also prices fluctuate over the world and good buyers is aware of the current patterns which means even if you manipulate the price in ireland they will just wait for you to eventually buckle under the pressure and the market to return to the world wide trend.

RTK: This approach does take patience sometimes the raw materials sit for a few days before selling but i have not seen materials that sell below market value last more than a few days in 2 months so I think this works consistently you just need to be patience as you mentioned the game may throw curve balls so you need to wait that out if it happens
