Dragoons, Ireland, Netherlands & more random biznich

Day 1,977, 21:08 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Thomas765

So, uh, hey,
It's the 20th of April and will probably be a shit day like any other day that hasn't got a significant date attached to it... Happy Cannabis Culture Holiday! No.

A wild Damhnaic appeared to offer his input...

Anyway, I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this article is. Interestingly, several things occurred yesterday that split the rift between The World is Ours and the Circle of Trust even further but that's been evolving for months.

To summarise events on eRepublik on this rather spring morning:
- Ireland and the Netherlands are declaring the UK as natural enemy
- Mexico is fighting to give a region back to Colombia after being proposed NE by China
- Bulgaria has beaten Romania further into the latter's homeland.
- War continues between Argentina and Brazil, with Brazil winning the first battle which was against Argentina's attack on their gold mine.
- MUFC1992 is educating us about the Serbo-Croatian language in #euk after hours of gay discussion.

So what to expect from the UK's situation?
Well, we have been proposed as natural enemy by two of eRepublik's most honourable nations but they aren't the most powerful, even with full alliance support behind them. With Argentina nearly removed from the UK, it's difficult to see if either of these countries will have much of an impact, especially given that TWO no longer has many important battles going on. As much as I want to see the UK seek vengeance against Ireland, I am hoping that a long term goal will be peace again.

We've both had our fun with the war - insulting, flaming, mocking each other - the UK has been wiped and Ireland has lost several regions during the war but ultimately, I see any war between the UK and Ireland as being a ping-pong war with no end. That could be fantastic for the citizenry of both countries, who all seem to want to enhance their profile statistic, entitled "True Patriot" but with that means that both nations are distracted to a degree when a more real war appears.

As for the Netherlands, they've been partially or mostly occupied by Poland for the best part of a year now but when they do end up in a war, they do so with a relative degree of honour. Don't expect an easy fight one vs. one with the Netherlands.

Best of luck to all three parties in the war. The UK has faced many different foes this year already, including one we had never faced before - Argentina. So you can't deny that 2013 so far has not been an interesting year for our country.

The Dragoons

Okay, so I felt like I should probably put in a little word about my military unit, which is ran by Madacaion and Sigfred.

The Royal Dragoons is a military unit that recently returned to the eUK after disbanding between 6 and 12 months ago. We have a rather limited membership for now but among our ranks are people from all around, including two members of TWO HQ.

The reason I joined is because I felt Legion was starting to lag behind a bit, becoming a military unit where damage was spread so thinly that despite their size. I liked the idea of going somewhere where damage could be coordinated and where supplies were relatively good. There is also a greater sense of community in the Dragoons as people are actively encouraged to come on IRC and ensure that they are active. Ultimately, this is just my opinion on the matter.

Our roster includes:
- Madacaion, current Minister of Defence
- Talon Karrde, current TWO Secretary General
- Cygnus X1, current Cyg of Cygland
- ChewChewShoe, former Irish country president
- McAfee01, former UK Minister of Foreign Affairs
- mittekemuis, current UK Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Belgian CP
- MrConway
- James Scarlet
- The Messiah Brian Cohen
- Leo Balzac
- Marquis Andras
- Qaise
- madkytle
- Lord Jopie
- harry2667
& myself

So feel free to join. However, there are limited spaces left.
