Department of Education

"Tell me and I'll forget. Show me, and I may not remember. Involve me, and I'll understand."
Native American Saying

That has always been my philosophy on education. The more people we get involved in eRepublik, the more educated population we will have. We, as a society in eAmerica, are slowly dying. We are dying because we lose new citizens everyday because they are not involved. Time after time, a new citizen will join eAmerica then leave by the end of the week because they do not know how to play the game and get involved. Not only is this hindering our growth, but we, as a nation, are losing money because of it. Each new citizen receives a new citizen's fee in the hope that they will buy food, get a job, and ultimately, put that money back into the economy and become a productive citizen of society. More often the not, though, that citizen fee is lost because new citizens are lost. That money lost contributes to an economic downturn which is ultimately not good for economy. That lost citizen could be a major contributor to society if they had the education to help them become a productive citizen. The Department of Education hopes to bring that lost citizen back and mold them into a successful member of society.

I'd first like to thank Justinious and Princess for giving me the opportunity to lead the Department of Education. Education, throughout my life, has always been my passion. As a student of political science looking to pursue a Masters in Library Science, I have dedicated my life to further informing the public of the information available to them as both citizens of the real world, and now as citizens of eAmerica.

I'd like to make you all aware of the current programs available in the eUS on Education as well as my plans to further expand the Department.

First, North American University. North American University was created by Emerick in the hopes to further expand the knowledge of average citizens on a variety of subjects, including, but not limited to eAmerican Politics, economics, business management, eUS History, eWorld history, journalism, Military policy, eRepublik philosophies, and religion. Emerick has done a great job organizing classes and finding professors. For more information on how you can enroll in NAU, please see this article.
I am teaching a course of eAmerican politics. But if you'd like to enroll in any of the classes, please look at the article or PM Emerick for more information.

I also plan on doing a series of articles and informal chats (via the eUSA forum and IRC) on various areas of importance the general public needs to be informed about. Many citizens are looking to get involved in a variety of different ways but don't always know the most effective ways to get involved. Topics will include the following

-How to run a Congressional campaign successfully and become an effective Congressman. Last election, there were many citizens who were not informed of the rules of the game and were thus not included on the ballot. In this article and discussion, I will outline how to run a campaign, how to communicate to potential voters and constituents, and how to gain respect in Congress.

-How to become a successful soldier. Many people want to get involved in the military, but don't know how. Once they are a part of the military, many do not know how to fight effectively or communicate with their superiors. This article will cover all the basics.

-What is inflation? How the economy works in eRepublik.

If you have any suggestions on topics that should be covered, please PM me. If you'd like to get involved with the Department of Education, PM me with any ideas on how you'd like to help! Remember, without knowledge, eAmerica cannot grow and prosper.
