Deleting My Account

Day 932, 22:12 Published in USA USA by Chris Stanwick

Friends Old and New,

Back in February, I returned from a three month retirement with fresh energy and a new perspective. That period of rebirth, though, has long since worn off. eRepublik just doesn't hold my interest anymore. I'd rather spend my time playing World of Warcraft than fending off PTO successes election after election.

That said, I'm retiring again. This time permanently, as I will be deleting my account. I've enjoyed some of my time in eRepublik and met some very interesting people. I might, from time to time, appear on IRC to say hello. Plus, there are a few, very few, people who can contact me IRL if you want to pass along a message.

So now it comes down to making out a will, such as it is. I've accumulated quite a bit of gold over the last fourteen months that I won't need anymore. I'm not the type of person to let it go to waste either, so over the next few days before I delete, I'll be making bequests to some of my old friends. My THB will be the first to go, donated to the Central Bank of Thailand for use in preventing future PTOs. I'll also be getting rid of my Q3 house and other worldly possessions.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that orgs remain even after the personal account they are tied to is deleted. If this is the case, I'll be bequesting them also. They make good storage facilities.

You have a week to say your goodbyes, then I'll be gone the way of many other oldtimers who have become disillusioned with eRepublik and wish to move on to something new. Adios muchachos.
