Decisions, Decisions. A word of advice.

Day 2,281, 17:37 Published in Australia Australia by AugustusX

So I've ventured out of the woodwork recently to assess our position in this whole alliance debacle. Whose side do we pick? My good friend Tim released a very interesting article about the alliances and where we should go here which I think everyone should read. Further, the Government has released this article here which is also important.

Now that you have read those articles, let me offer my opinion on the matter. There is but ONE choice I see here for us.

I mean seriously. This alliance has some of our longest term friends - the eUK (which we became quite close to in our previous Alliance) as well as the ePoland. eTurkey and eSpain were also friends of ours in the past and have been key in signing MPPs and allowing damage to filter to our battles. Does everyone remember not long ago when Poland steam rolled into our country to free us from our oppressors? It was glorious. As for the eUSA and eCroatia, whilst we have not fought together for sometime and found ourselves on conflicting sides, I believe that our past is something that still stands strong in everyone's minds. Let me give you a bit of history.

The eUSA in the days of eIndonesian occupation were apart of NUMEROUS operations to expel the invading force. The eUSA fought so intensely for our freedom it was spectacular. It tied a bond between us that should not be forgotten. eCroatia was also involved in operations to secure our freedom and along with the eUSA have been brought closer because of it. I don't think the actions of the previous alliance make-up has damage that relationship beyond repair.

The next reason we should stick with this team is because we are most 'RL and culturally' aligned with these guys. The eUK and eUSA are natural allies. Obviously. The eUK helped us extensively as a friend last time because of our close connection. The eUSA came to our aid in the past for the same reasons. eTurkey also are close friends due to our shared respect for each other in the Gallipoli campaign. We have connections that naturally will foster a stronger bond and which will in turn save our hides in the future.

Now that I have blown the trumpet for Sirius, let's drown out of the beat of Asteria. First of all, these lads are on the other side of the world (ex. Argentina) and they have not proven too much to show us that will bother to cross the expanse of the ocean to rescue us. ePoland, eUSA, eUK and eCroatia have. Think on that. Whilst sure, eGreece once upon a time along with the eUSA helped us to be free, I feel that eGreece has detached from this path of mateship. More occupied since the introduction of FYROM (Macedonia) in battling out with their rivals and therefore unable to render assistance as needed.

I must now talk about eArgentina. These guys have endured with us and I have a huge amount of respect for the lads. They helped us, we helped them and I think for a while there we moved towards a decent friendship. It's just a shame that they NAP'ed Chile and paved a way for us to be overwhelmed. I suppose however, that the benefits of Sirius outweigh our friendship with eArgentina, and to be honest, I will grieve such a loss. But unfortunately, it's a loss that must be endured and hopefully will one day be overlooked and just as may be possible with the eUSA, we will be friends again.

To move on, this business with eChile and eIndonesia and their whole 'pro-Sirius' thing. eChile well deservedly are held high in my book of suspicions. Ranked second only to eIndonesia. Why? Well history is a bitch. eChile have invaded us many times, they have betrayed our trust many times. eIndonesia have done the exact same. We have offered them money... We have offered them regions and peace and we get backdoor deals and betrayal in return. Unfortunately we don't pull the international weight they do. So if we join Sirius, eChile / eIndo will be allies... We've heard that before. The betrayal was all the greater when our 'alliance' threw us out and laughed.

There will always be a reason why eChile cannot leave... There will always be a reason why eIndo need to invade. It's simple. Personally I wouldn't trust these guys as much as I could throw them. Our reliance would be on the eUSA and eUK and ePoland to vouch for us. But at the end of the day... Who does more damage? Which is better for the alliance? I will give you a hint... It's not us.

As far as I can see it, we have little choice but to dance with fire again. Rely on the trust and friendship of Sirius to deliver us results; for we all know Asteria surely wouldn't give a cent. We have a better chance. The final point that cemented my belief in Sirius is Mittekemuis. I have worked with her before and she is one o the best politicians and leaders of this game. Not only is her judgement sound and fair it is balance and well informed and the best chance to ensure we are granted a fair chance and a fair hearing on our liberation and I believe someone who can rally the team and drive down the history of hostility.

But let's not forget that an alliance is about teamwork. We must be ready to fight for our friends with as equal gusto as if we were fighting for our own regions. We must prove to our friends we are not collateral. We are not a nagging noise in the background. We must earn our place and we must show the team we are worthy of freedom because we are an ally you can count on.

FOR AUSTRALIA!
FOR SIRIUS!
