Day 19 - Resistance Stalls in Brazil, USA; China Attacks Serbia

Day 19 -

North America

The United States failed in their resistance of Montana. This move was an attempt to connect Washington to the the rest of liberated America. Because Washington is the capital, the land bridge is necessary to gain any sort of economic bonus from the liberated states in the midwest.
America also failed in the resistance of Florida. Hungary was simply too powerful, and had too big a lead.
The United States was victorious in Alaska, however. This comes as somewhat of a surprise, as it gives the United States a border with Serbia. Luckily for the United States, Serbia is more concerned with China at the moment.
Lastly, the United States is declaring Indonesia as Natural Enemy. This move comes as somewhat of a surprise, as there doesn’t seem to be any sort of logical reason for the move. The USA could win their regions back via Resistance War. There is potential for a blocking maneuver against Poland. USA would attack Yukon, Indonesia and make Poland go through two American regions to get to Japan.

South America
Although the Resistance continues to rage in Brazil, TERRA continues to come up empty handed. The Spaniards added insult to injury yesterday, and not only put down the uprising in Parana and Santa Catarina, but conquered the southern region of Rio Grande de Sul. After winning a few battles in the early stages of the resistance, Spain has managed to stonewall Brazil. Three attempts to liberate Parana and Santa Catarina, and all of them failed.
It is possible that these outcomes are because more of TERRA is preparing for the invasion of China, and are positioning their troops likewise.

Asia
Serbia conquered Far Eastern Russia yesterday. The outcome was not much of a surprise, as Serbia jumped out to a quick lead, and kept their foot on the throat of the Russians for the length of the battle.
This region is somewhat complexing. The area has been prepped for war, for the better part of a week, but the battles have not materialized. Two days ago. China declared Serbia as Natural Enemy, and many people believed that they would strike the Serbian occupied regions of Russia, in an attempt to stop the northern invasion before it started. And true to form, China attacked Eastern Siberia. It was a hard fought battle, but Serbia ultimately pulled out the win, 8-4. This gives Serbia the initiative in the war, and as the 24 hours to attack is nearly up, we can expect a Serbian attack very very soon.
Also, Hungary has had a border with Japan for over a day, and we have not seen any sort of declaration from the Hungarians. We have however, seen Japan take the first step, and declare Hungary as Natural Enemy. This move came almost 24 hours ago, and like Serbia in the north, we can expect to see a Japanese attack on Hawaii very very soon.

Overall Analysis
I will admit to being very confused about the Natural Enemy proposal against Indonesia. My sources tell me it’s a very simple reason, but they also refuse to say what it is (bastards....). If one of my dear readers can figure it out, I would love to know. But right now, I’m a little stumped by it.
Otherwise, things are still gearing up for an Invasion of China. With a Serbian attack coming very soon, and a Japanese attack also coming, this weekend should prove interesting, as the invasion will likely get under way.
Lastly, a special thanks to Bombonato and Kria Erikson for the crash course in Advanced Initiative and Warfare they gave me this afternoon. It was much appreciated.
