Could a quick-fix really fix the game?

An excellent article by the Croatian player Don Croata ("What happened to our game?") prompted me to write this very short piece you are about to read.

Plato screwed up the game so badly that soon he will be the only one left playing it.

Due to all the features Plato implemented, there's no way we would be able to return to the V1 spirit. By now everybody has learned the way to "win" is to form a "SUPERALLIANCE" and score "victory" after "victory" even without burning the credit cards.

If Plato wants to quick-fix the game before no credit card is ever used anymore, he can do so by making impossible to have SUPERALLIANCES.

That can be done simply by placing a limit on the number of MPPS a country, based on total damage that country and her MPP allies would be able to deliver.

To keep the things hyper-fluid I'd say the limit should be placed at 20% of the total damage/influence in the eWorld.

That would mean CoT would probably have to expel only one or two of their weakest members (since they are currently at 21.3😵 while for sure Serbia and Poland would not be able to sign MPPs since together they go over the 20% limit.

A 20% total per alliance would mean there would be maximum 5 alliances in the whole eWorld. In theory 3 such alliances might still cooperate by attacking simultaneously the other 2, even though they wont' be able to support each other directly via MPPs.

However, when 3 need to attack 2, those 3 need to divide their effort against 2 different targets. And when 3 need to coordinate in order to go after 2, there are lots of surprises bound to happen on the way.

Would the game would look like the smaller EDEN fending off the larger Peace, Phoenix, One and TWO?

Of course it would. And therefore it would be as dynamic as V1 was.

The only question to my mind is which would happen first: Plato would be the only player left or the Admins would implement this or a similar quick-fix?
