Congress speaker reports back

19 Day 732, 04:40 South Africa
Congress has nearly reached the end of its journey and it’s my job as congressional speaker to give an end of term report to eSouth Africans. Both so you can judge better who to vote in again and also to see our progress over the past month.

General comments
Congress members were mostly extremely active and dedicated this congressional term. Exceptions will be highlighted below, but there will always be exceptions. The challenge is coming up with eSouth Africa moving from 20 congress members to 40. The next congressional speaker will have his hands full in terms of organising this large group of people and keeping them active.

But party presidents are also the ones responsible for keeping their congress representatives active, otherwise it will reflect badly on the party.

Congress this term degenerated into personal spats this term which I will elaborate on below and should come as no surprise to any readers since these arguments were often made public.

Voting report

Congress report

Edit: the colours seem to have disappeared?

Exilious
Rating: Red
Elected from: African National Alliance
Status: Congress member
Proposals made: 2
Citizenship requests approved: 2
Forum activity: 3.5 posts per day
Comments: Performs duties of congressman. However, he gets a RED rating due to the fact that he is destructive and disruptive in the congressional hall, insulting other members of congress and deliberately flaunting the rules. He went behind the back of the eSouth African people to negotiate with EDEN, which isn’t the worst of his sins. Most congress members have written to me to complain about Exilious, he was banned more times than I can count and he is a disruptive influence which distracts congress from its actual duties. I recommend for him NOT to be re-elected.

Remon777
Rating: Blue
Elected from: Independent Alternative
Status: Congress member
Proposals made: 2

Frank Furglar
Rating: Green
Elected from: United South Africa
Status: Congress member
Proposals made: 0

Little Missy
Rating: Red
Elected from: United South Africa
Status: Congress member
Proposals made: 1
Citizenship requests approved: 1
Forum activity: 0 posts made
Comments: Completely inactive, after being asked to become more active I got no response and the proposal she made recently was a throw away proposal which was voted down. Suspicion she is elected because of profile picture and not because she actually does anything. Her citizenship approval was rogue.

Awrek
Rating: Blue
Elected from: Independent Alternative
Status: Congress member
Proposals made: 0
Citizenship requests approved: 2
Forum activity: 0.6 posts per day
Comments: Seemingly not very active on forums, but saving grace is that he followed procedure in approving those two citizens, indicating activity and performing basic duties of congressman.

Jan Olivier
Rating: Red
Elected from: United SA
Status: Congress member
Proposals made: 0
Citizenship requests approved: 0
Forum activity: 0.5 posts per day
Comments: Undoubtedly the most inactive congressman this term. After being asked to become active, he responded and posted one or two comments in the congressional hall, but faded into obscurity again.

good job schums - it's a tough one but someone's gotta do it.

You can add a rogue citizenship approval to Little Missy's description. She approved GusDur, a former eSA citizen who spent his entire time in exile working in Eastern Cape, eIndonesia for DeLiCiOuS FoOD, a company owned by the org FIRE Ltd. GusDur (just like Little Missy) has been sending gold bonus donations to this same org and occasionally also receiving items (food?).

This is typically biased just as I'd expect from an elitist golden politician.

You claim I have insulted other members in congressional discussion, yet you can post no proof of a such thing. I have never negotiated anything with EDEN. My presidential platform was that if elected, I would negotiate with them.

The forum activity tool just adds all posts together then divides it by the number of posts the user has made, meaning it takes into account all posts since the beginning of when the board was made and not posts inside Congressional Hall since the beginning of the term.

You give Guss1972 exemption due to RL problems. Hey, we all have RL problems. Maybe the other innactive people have RL problems, but that doesnt stop you from giving them Red, now does it? Very biased.

You gave Awrek BLUE when he didnt participate at all in discussions. Then you go and give good congressmen like Stagnation, Azreal, Remon, and Champinator also BLUE. These people were great participants. Awrek was not, yet you rate them together. Showing some more bias there, trying to boost your party.

If you're going to give me RED, then why not Frank Furglar? Do you not notice the pattern? Frank does something that offends me, so I do it back. I only started to post censure proposals once him and Amun began spamming them, wasting the time and effort of congress.

FYI, when I was writing the inactive article, I did consider adding Ines on it. Though she did vote in all proposals, she never did participate in discussion nor did she fulfill her job as Speaker. There was no unbiased arbitration. There was only Frank Furglar running a congressional monopoly. Deleting votes and comments he didnt agree with.

No. This article should not be read by anyone and used as a tool for voting for next elections. Vote based on participation. Not based on this biased display of elitist monopolism.

Good job Ines, I feel this provides a somewhat fair and unbiased view of this months congress.

Good Job Ines.

Enough controversy rating 20 congressmen, I shudder how it will be next month. This will become even more important a duty then.

And Exilious, your rating is deserved. However, you have enough of a support base for it to really not matter and propably get re-elected again so I'm unsure why you're making a big deal of it.

Thank you Ines, you have done a good job yourself. Rating 20 congressmen is a tough task as Stagnation has said.

Exilious, you cannot really argue with what Ines said. All people need do is visit the eSA forum. They will see how you baited FF and Ryan. You have been disruptive. If this was RL you would have been escorted from congress under police guard.

Please remember Congress voted on Ines to do this, so if you don't like it, deal with it.

Also, Awrek participated in one of the hospital discussions, one post, I believe.

Exilious the only reason you aren't banned from the forums is that Congress is tried of dealing with you, they don't want to talk about you, they don't want to look at you, they're definitely tired of going through all the trouble of banning you.

Ines stood up for you the first time Congress voted to ban you.

It isnt congresses right to deny public office to a citizen. That violates Law #1 of Erepublik.

It is the citizens' right as a collective to determine who represents the country.

I did not "bait" FF and I never said anything to Ryan on Congressional forums at all. Frank didnt like my ideas, so he proposed bans after bans wasting the time of congress.
