Dear citizens,

As it seems, after citizenship implementation there are three “big boys” left: the new map, company tools and the war module. We have already described the new eRepublik world map, which is scheduled to go live in about one week. The next major feature will be the company tools module, and in this Insider we will offer you a sneak preview of it.

Company tools (manager's tools) had not been as widely requested as other features given the fact that only managers will have access to this new module, but still we have conferred it a great importance and worked hard for it. Because happy and satisfied citizens need pleased managers, and pleased managers need great tools to manage their businesses. The new company tools will introduce in eRepublik one of the basic concepts of capitalism and free market: everybody should get paid according to the amount of delivered profit. We all know that right now the quantification of total productivity of a specific employee is impossible, so salaries are somewhat unfair.

Companies are paying salaries such that they still maintain a profit, but that does not mean that employees are paid as they should. Some are paid more than they deserve, and some less. Some employees are taking care of their wellness and hence have a much greater productivity than others with identical skill, but still they are usually paid alike. Some 10-12+ employees are paid just double compared to other employees that produce four times fewer products. All this might change soon, with the implementation of company tools.

In every company the finances page will have new tabs, accessible by the manager (citizen/organization) of the company. Please bare in mind that the revenue that goes into the company is “income” and the cash that goes out is “expenditure.” So, for example, collected profit means money for the owner, but a loss for the company. And invested money to pay salaries is “income” for the company, but “lost” money for the manager.


There are three types of information you can get:

1.Specific currencies accounts balance. Here you will have a comprehensive balance of both incomes and expenditures for the selected currency within the date interval. Information about the product sales made in that currency, monetary market exchanges bought or sold, invested and collected money from company account, expenditures with salaries and bought materials, paid taxes like VAT or import tax, and others, will be available. You only need to select the currency and date interval, and all the info you need will be listed!

2.Sales history. Here you will have listed all the sales made by your company, in all marketplaces for which you own a license, grouped by the same selling price. Also, you can see both gross and net price - that is, you can easily see the profit made by you in specific markets.

3.Employees list. Here you will have information about skills and wellness of the company's employees. Also, employee's history is available, showing their presence at work and daily productivity. This new list will replace the current employees list, and will be visible for all citizens, not just managers.

Widely speaking, these will be the tools for better business management. Employees productivity will be easily measurable, so they should be paid accordingly. Their presence at work is another factor to be taken into consideration. Specific and detailed information will be made available regarding currencies, markets, market sales, net incomes, net expenditures - all which will hopefully provide you a better opportunity to stand up and be profitable in the economical jungle. As for the time frame, we expect to have these tools live in September.

one great feature to add would be an intelligent payment system,as defined by the manager,e.g if the worker's wellness is between 90-100 he\she would get the max salary,but a 80-90 wellness would get less and so on...

How about advertising jobs not be nominal wages but percentages over production....
For example:
Job "A" skill "Anyskill" Wage 5currency for every 10 units produced!

That would defenetely simplify the search function and reduce the stress of the servers!!!!

Why not make job market offers valid for 100 wellness. So when a person applies for a skill 5 job paying 10 USD that would be for 100 wellness. If he has 50 wellness he would be paid only paid half of that.

I agree, making a third category (beside type of skill and level of skill currently available on the job market), namely "Wellness" would do a lot more. This way beside setting the desired skill level, a manager could set a wellness level as well. This means that a 50 wellness person could not apply for a 90 wellness job. This way all productivity issues could be solved, and another dimension would be added to the manager job: either employ high wellness workforce with high wages, or low wellness jobs for low wages...

It would be so simple... why not do this?

there is a way to cause damage: a new employee can join for a normal offer than he/she works with low wellness. GM has not chance to change the salary before the work (if GM catches this in time for example).
And there is no chance to set sophisticated salaries in the first 3 days according to the wellness.
Will there be any change at this '3-days' rule?

- GM put 3 job offers with the minimum skill is 7 and the salary is 40 IDR
- then 3 workers apply for that job
* 1st worker have 90% wellness when he/she click "Work" then AUTOMATICALLY he/she will only got 90/100 * 40 IDR = 36 IDR
* 2nd worker have 50% wellness when he/she click "Work" then AUTOMATICALLY he/she will only got 50/100 * 40 IDR = 20 IDR
* 3rd worker have 95% wellness when he/she click "Work" then AUTOMATICALLY he/she only got 95/100 * 40 IDR = 38 IDR

We want to be able to hire people according to their wellness. It is very annoying, that people with low wellness can apply to my job offers, and can work instantly. For one good worker i have to put out at least 3 job offers. Although my companys name has "90+ wellness" in it.
Make wellness filtering possible, ore a waiting list, where managers can choose between the workers applied for the job offer.

If the companies can't buy in the international market only in the local, why they have the option of buy currency?

Why not disable the "Monetary Market" option from inside the company, so the companies dont hurt the balance of the taxes and the Employees can have a better salary due to the reduction of the "Income Tax"

wew... waiting list is also a good suggestion.. think about it guys!! and maybe proposing job like in beta is also a good way for GM to get a worker. so we'll have 2 way for getting worker..

I have a system of my own for paying workers in accordance with their wellness. I give them a 20% raise once they've worked with their wellness above 90 for 10 days straight. It works perfectly. Also, I purchased Big Brother's company tool for 3 gold... I guess that's wasted money now.

I like the idea of pro-rating salaries based on wellness.

This will encourage workers to keep their wellness up, and allow managers to hire level 0-3 workers without losing money due to a high minimum wage.

Also, it would be nice if new players could fight in a battle at level 3 instead of level 5. This would keep them from starving sooner, and make them more employable.

I like the idea of workers getting their pay determined by how much they produce. It sounds nice for us to have a wellness filter, but you may as well give up on it. Nobody will want anyone below 90 wellness and many people will quit. Admins won't go for that.

Managers,

Because e-republik wants workers to be hourly not by commission. If all workers were paid according commission all the time. It might reduce the *game* of it. Supporting multiple payment models would be neat though.
