I just read Cerb's appeal to the military community to end the silly split between USAF and JCSF. It was wonderful reading!
Fitsin's response, a suggestion to invade the eUK, was a lot of fun as well.
I was a senior officer in the Army when I burned out and went on walkabout. So I was lucky enough to be quite inactive when the split happened. I don't know what or why and couldn't care less.
Before going further, I want to make it clear that Kria Erikson is absolutely the *FINEST* junior officer I ever worked with in my military career. She is smart, creative, reasonable, and always makes good decisions. It's a very positive sign of "moving on" that she has moved from junior officer to senior officer and now part of the cabinet. I hope the many other fine officers I worked with, trained, and learned from, will forgive me for this nod.
Now I am proud to be a private in the Special Forces (USAF). It is a terrific organization for an experienced player who doesn't need a lot of direction. And I thank all my friends from the Army who have given me a minimum of shit for rejoining on the "other side." To me, the split is just childish nonsense.
(If you are wondering why I joined, it's simple. Because Liquid Oxygen asked at the right time. And because he promised not to ask me to be an officer
).
But one thing about the split seriously pains me: The loss of LEADERSHIP! I learned from Custer and wrote about it here.
Nothing in my eRepublik career matches the leadership I saw from the JCS ... NXNW, Bombonato, Jankems, Jason the Great, Lucius Varenus, Rod Damon, Channing, and GoalieBCSC, just to name a few. It is a loss to the entire country if these individuals are not contributing to their fullest potential.
I hope that is what President Cerb seeks with his appeal.
Me, I just try to keep it simple these days. I am a weapon with strength over 6300 and a Q5 hit over 3200. The military gives me guns, points me in the right direction, and I kill our enemies ... Spaniards, Poles, or Redcoats!

How to bring the two together is the big question. Since a merge seems impossible.
Nice article ZH. I was totally quit and away from the game when the split happened. I have heard rumors of what happened, but not being in the middle of it, all you get is two sides to the story. Unfortunately, I am not sure if the JCS forces will ever go back to the way it was. It will take everyone to put their pride aside and work for the better of the Country. I'd be willing to help mediate if needed.

I wonder would Ireland agree to merge with America ? Theres not enough of them really to engage the eUK on a permenant basis and it would help both sides. Would this be worth an ask ??
fionn187, that's not really how the game mechanics work. Nearly always, we have an MPP (Mutual Protection Pact) with eIreland. This allows eUS players to fight in conventional battles involving eIreland without moving there.
Alas, because of the supply chain, battles in eIreland are rarely of national significance to the eUS and its Allies, so the eUK gets to wipe them out fairly regularly these days. At present, eIreland is reconstituted to all of its home territories - so that's good news there.
Good to see young players thinking it through and welcome to the best/bad game on the internet .

fionn187, a major part of the attraction of this game is that there is always more to learn. Many of the players are "learning addicts." (The rest of us are simply pathetic )
