Colombia Declares War on Mexico, Plots against United States [UPDATED]

The Congress of Colombia has passed a measure declaring war on their ally and ALA partner state Mexico late Sunday night. This move is a shocker that took the military and diplomatic communities by surprise. The reasons for such a strange measure are almost certainly secret and involve nations other than the two powers in question.
The most quoted justification for this bizarre action is that Colombia is making moves to involve themselves in the war in North America. The United States has a Non-Aggression Pact filed with Mexico, an agreement that prevent both countries from using force against each other in a direct way. Rumors are that Colombia is working with Mexico to swap territories and give Colombia a border with the United States. This will allow them to initiate blocking attacks to protect Russia, and due to the US's NAP with Mexico, the US would have no other way to protect themselves than to open hostilities with both Colombia and Mexico. This could mean a serious step toward bringing South America into the war between PEACE and Fortis/Eden.

If so, it is a brilliant move by Colombia, since the eUS cannot really retaliate without going through Mexico. However, Mexico has the most to lose, since the eUS could potentially claim Colombian occupied regions of Mexico. (not really sure on the terms of the non aggression pact between the US and Mexico, but I would imagine Mexico would be unable to attack US occupied regions that the eUS takes from eColombia.)
Regardless, training war or real war, I just want our MPPs back so I can sell guns and fight
Reminiscent of the UK and Hungary at the beginning of the war. I can't believe the ALA and Columbia are being used like this if that is what is really happening. The risk of dragging the entire continent into the war is great.

i said that Columbia and Mexico will pay cause USA after blocking will have good opportunity to go to offensive with all MPP-s which will be activated, and then both Mexico and Columbia will be certainly defeated, with or without helping of AHA/PEACE.
South America can not take part in North America's conflict, cause we are too weak to do something, and moreover what can columbia score by attacking USA- imho nothing special?

PEACE organized two land swaps before the war. UK/Hungary, and Indo/Japan. Both were preludes to war. Why would Mexico and Columbia spend gold to start a war between themselves to swap territories? It is either to launch an attack or as a diversion. Mexico cannot attack the eUSA, but if Colombia obtains the border regions and attacks with PEACE tanks, eUSA could occupy Columbia's regions and say that they no longer belong to Mexico, therefore there is no NAP violation.
PEACE hopes to reacquire one or two eUSA territories in the south to start a new front, and then the regions will be swapped back.
Unfortunately, Columbia's and Mexico's reputation as PEACE puppets will be cemented for a long time. The really sad thing is that PEACE's imperialistic ambitions could draw all of the rest of us into a war we do not want. It is probably serendipitous that our Columbian MPP expired at this time.

@jim283 Colombia will not attack the United States with the hope conquering territory, they will attack in order to 'block' the United States in the upcoming assault on Russian occupied North America. They will pawns in the North American War, used to steal the initiative. I personally think that tt will also harm relations between these countries and much of the independent world for some time.
@jim283 I think you've missed an element of game mechanics in this conversation. If a country is attacked it loses the ability to attack for 24 hours. If Columbia can intervene for Russia and 'block' and attack, they could steal the initiative in the war and be a factor in how that conflict unravels. I know that the United States would crush both Mexico and Colombia, but that doesn't change the fact that Colombia is being used as a pawn by PEACE to irritate the US in it recapture of its territory.
I have no doubt that the United States will be victorious in this conflict, but I am also confident that Colombia is making this exchange inorder to attack the United States. There is no other reason for it, and you haven't offered any other explanations for this declaration of war. I'm fairly sure its public knowledge by now that PEACE will attack the United States via Colombia. Perhaps you should read some of their official communicades? I think you'll agree.

No, I do not believe everything PEACE publishes, that is a rhetorical question meant to impune my judgement, something I think is unnecessary and unfriendly. But I see no other reason wy Mexico would arrange these land waps, and if PEACE openly admits thi is their plan, I don't understand why you think it ISNT what they're planning on. Do you have some inside information that you're not sharing? Some insight on why they'd do this if NOT to attack the US?
I agree that it would be foolish, but I have little doubt this is their plan.
