Colombia Declares War on Mexico, Plots against United States [UPDATED]

Day 656, 00:16 Published in Peru USA by sydiot
The Congress of Colombia has passed a measure declaring war on their ally and ALA partner state Mexico late Sunday night. This move is a shocker that took the military and diplomatic communities by surprise. The reasons for such a strange measure are almost certainly secret and involve nations other than the two powers in question.

The most quoted justification for this bizarre action is that Colombia is making moves to involve themselves in the war in North America. The United States has a Non-Aggression Pact filed with Mexico, an agreement that prevent both countries from using force against each other in a direct way. Rumors are that Colombia is working with Mexico to swap territories and give Colombia a border with the United States. This will allow them to initiate blocking attacks to protect Russia, and due to the US's NAP with Mexico, the US would have no other way to protect themselves than to open hostilities with both Colombia and Mexico. This could mean a serious step toward bringing South America into the war between PEACE and Fortis/Eden.

This opinion article says a lot about the situation and how Colombians feel about the attack.

"krzych32 : Jose is right, John please delete this article, we are trying to do something and you are ruining it."

The writer of the article, which is critical of the declaration, has been threatened with bans on the Colombian national forums if he did not take it down. The comments are full of people telling him to be quiet about the secret plans or agreeing with him that Colombia should stay out of the war.

Rancor is building between the United States and Colombia even now, as Americans see this as a treacherous move from a country that has never been wronged by the US. There have been outcries against Colombia's vote in other ALA countries, including Peru, and others still that say Colombia has been forced into the war by the PGC leadership.

This is the official announcement from the Mexican Government regarding the land swap, acknowledging that it is arranged by the PGC and will give Colombia a border with the United States.

To clarify people's misconceptions about the NAP between Mexico and the United States:

Here is the text of that agreement.

Notice in terms:

2. Neither country may take possession of the other's original territory

And consequences:

If a party breaks the second term - if original territory is taken - breacher of the contract is required to pay cost of a resistance war to return country to its original owner

Mexico is in gross violation of the spirit of this contract, but it will be the United States who will be forced to violate its letter.

Russia's President has proposed an MPP with Mexico We expect this law to pass by morning.
