COG Kicks off the Holiday Season with a Carol

21 Day 1,103, 19:59 South Africa

EDEN/Bros, EDEN/ Bros,
EDEN all the way
Oh, what fun it is to kick
Some Phoenix butt today, yay!

First, we’d like to thank the friends who have reached out to us in support over the past couple days. We appreciate you all and hope to make you proud as we stand beside you on the battlefield.

I’ve received several PMs asking for more information on our purpose and intention and I hope to clarify our Mission Statement through the articles I offer here.

During my eleven months in TCO, I’ve seen a lot of great players come and go. Each had their reasons for joining and for leaving. One that always troubled me was the understandable nationalism that many players feel. They love the idea of a rag tag militia of fighters, but hear their home nation’s call and feel compelled to answer.

COG is an international Division, dedicated to fighting for all of our allied nations. There is no citizenship requirement. We pledge our military efforts to EDEN/Bros and will carry our standard into battle for them whenever and wherever we’re needed.

Having an international point of view keeps COG free of political agendas. Though our members are free to choose to enter the political arena, and though we support close allies such as eSouth Africa in their ATO efforts, our focus is on the battlefield, not on the election trail or in congress. We are a warmongering battle machine above all else.

In a time when BH medals are handed out like candy bars from a pedophile’s van, we focus on group achievement and making a positive impact on the battlefield over individual accomplishment. Heck, I won a couple medals yesterday without even trying – no strategy is involved, just a pile of cash. Isn’t helping allies win critical battles more important than a number on a profile hardly anyone ever sees? We think so and hope to be an integral part of allied victories.

Since announcing our launch, we’ve doubled in size, taking our Division from miniscule to tiny (yay!). Sure, our numbers may be small, but our presence in battle could make a big difference.

I asked in #crimson who all had joined COG, and the reply I got from hiispie was "no one". I thought it was weird, considering the big ticket names that have joined to date, but I might have misread that one.

@saltydog - To date, no members of TCO have joined COG (except those who started it). Our members are from outside, are players who like the idea of militias yet have national allegiances that prevent them from moving to eCanada or eAustralia to join those Divisions. We don't reject the idea of transfers, but won't weaken TCO's existing forces in order to strengthen our own.

I see this, to a degree, as an experiment in international cooperation with a single goal in mind: to help EDEN/Bros find victory on the battlefield. Players who appreciate playing with that purity of purpose and who want to build something while having some fun may want to give COG a try. We hope our dedication to fair play and hard work will prove contagious. We hold our heads high and continue to do our best.

@salty - Dycey has already stated this but it cannot be said enough. No TCO members have joined COG because we are trying to focus our recruiting efforts on people from outside the existing structure. The goal is simply to bring more faces to the table and more guns to the fight and in order to do that, we need to attract people who aren't already involved in a militia. There's no sense in moving around people who are already active soldiers because that just divides the military effectiveness. The goal is to incorporate more people into the EDEN-friendly war machine and continue to support and work with our friends be they our brothers and sisters in TCO and the CAF or the allied EDEN countries.

If this is so independent of TCO, then why use the COG and the name Crimson?

Seems like your trying to play off of others work

why not try and start your own? - Call if FAIL..

Rolo, your constant attacking of my political career left a major Canadian political party in shambles and saw it lose over 100 members. Dycey and I have taken every opportunity to make it clear that we are trying to work WITH TCO not against it and your attempts to create a schism are only damaging TCO. If you have nothing to contribute to the discussion other than criticism and blind accusations, please keep you comments to yourself.

Remember also that Dycey spent months and JRC and I spent over a year working with TCO to build it into the fighting force that it is today. Opening a new branch that operates under the Crimson Commander and that builds on the success that we helped create is far from playing off of other's work.

Rolo, if you would use your efforts for building teamwork and something positive instead of making rude and divisive comments, you could do great things. I feel sorry that you can't get that bee out of your bonnet and that you continue to be mean. I suppose your "mayhem" makes you happy, but its cost to others is completely unfair.

You can be affiliated without calling it Crimson

You can work with TCO without calling it Crimson

The sheer amount of resistance to this within TCO and having this branch be viewed as "exclusive" and an elite club goes against everything The Crimson Order stands for

Fact is you can call it anything else and it's not a problem. If you can convince people to leave TCO and join you it's not a problem. Just don't pretend to be part of TCO when you aren't...Thats the problem

We're not trying to convince people to leave TCO though Rolo. I think a large deal of the resistance is coming from people who don't understand that COG is not vying for power within TCO. As Dycey has pointed out, we're even telling current TCO members not to switch divisions. COG is simply that, a new division.

Imagine you a running cell phone company. You realize that if you produce a phone that has a qwerty keyboard with very small buttons, you can attract a reliable market with people interested in text messages that gives you 30% of the cellphone market. On the other hand, if you produce a cellphone that has only large buttons with numbers, you can attract a reliable market with people interesting in only making phone calls that gives you a 20% of the cellphone market. Logically you choose to devote your resources to the first product. Now imagine that a former CEO offers to start an offshoot division of your company that will provide the second product at no cost to you, without interfering with your own development. If you refuse the offshoot, you remain without the 20% market share. If you accept, you lose no control of your company, but you increase your exposure in the market at no cost. So long as the offshoot company continues to require no investment on your part, you logically can only benefit from opening the new division.

COG is not in competition with TCO. COG is simply a new branch catering to a different market. Look at it as an umbrella group. Self-run, but still privy to control from the TCO as a parent. Regardless, COG has been approved by the current TCO Commander and from what I've been told (my forum access on the TCO forums was revoked) the support for COG is fairly equal (something like 10-15) and many people are curious to at least give COG a chance before they shut it down. For the time being, COG is Crimson and part of TCO and we're going to do our best to earn this distinction.

Good to see that Rolo is doing the talking for TCO, even though Dycey and Kilgore are probably experts on the topic at hand.
