Club Imperialism can shove it.

Day 750, 11:20 Published in USA USA by Bradley Reala

This is written in response to Zoli's article Club Imperialism Welcomes the USA

Here's the case of two nations, relatively similar to each other in many respects, and put in positions not wholly unrelated. The nations I speak of are France and Japan.

France

Beginning about a week ago, Spain began a war with France. Some cried "Imperialism!" some congratulated Spain on getting some revenge on France for its invasion earlier this year. My personal feelings on this are unimportant, but I'll go so far as to say I stand on the side of an important ally. I did sympathize with the French people, though, because I feel like they really got the short end of the stick. When they went to defend their land, where was Hungary? Where was Serbia? Not helping them! Nope, not even an MPP went up for France. So in the end they lost both of their high wood regions, and have little chance of retaking them in the near future. In the great scheme of things, France got screwed.

Japan

Now consider the case of Japan. Three days ago America began a war with Japan. Some cried "Imperialism!" some congratulated America on doing what it needed to do to gain a corridor into Asia in order to free its ally's captured regions. My personal feelings on this? We were going in to free Chinese, Corean, and possibly other regions. We wanted to help our allies, and help countries that have been oppressed by Hungary, Indonesia, and Iran. Unlike France, Japan had Hungarian, Serbian, Russian, Indonesian, Portugese and many other's support! What was different? Well...that would be Hungary's bottom line.

The Bottom Line

Hungary knew we were coming for their regions, to return them to the nations they rightfully belong to. When France, a PEACE GC country, was in trouble, Hungary couldn't be bothered to help out an old friend. Japan probably would've been the same way if it hadn't been for Iran and Hungary's high iron regions that they've stolen from the Chinese. So that's why Japan was saved. Not to stop America's "Imperialism" but to save their own.
