Central Greece, the "Promise Land"

Day 630, 03:17 Published in Serbia Hungary by montaigne

Dear Serbian Citizens,

As of yesterday I have seen many of you either wishing or demanding war with Greece for the sake of capturing Central Greece. However I have not seen a recent calculation on the cost impact related to it, so I made a calculation of my own and I wish to share it with you and you draw your conclusion:

There are 2 ways to get the Central Greece. It is s "shorter" and a "cheaper" way to do it.

1. THE SHORT ONE.
a. Declare war to our Bulgarian friends (it is a technical must, needs diplomatic efforts with Bulgaria). It costs 845 Gold.
b. Attact and occupy Sofia Region (Bulgarian president pushes the retreat button). Serbia must pay for a destroyed Q5 Hospital and a Q3 DS. Costs about 550 Gold, but 100 Golds could be recovered by selling the battle hero medals, so 450 Gold.
c. Forging a war with Greece by attacking Slavonia (Croatia) and make immediate Presidential Retreat. This way Croatia’s MPPs will be activated. Cost 250 Gold, minus 100 Gold for battle hero medals = 150 Gold. Take care, you need to have a common border with Greece when you attack Croatia! Declaring a war to Greece would cost 700 Golds more.
d. Attack Macedonia. Cost 160 Gold, not to mention cost of tanking and weapons.
e. RW in Epirus or Thessaly, otherwise you have to get in war with Turkey. You may expect Greeks to fight on the Turkis side! Nevertheless Cost of RW not to mention tanking and weapons = 60 Gold.
f. Attack Epirus or Thessaly 60 Gold
g. Attack Central Greece: Cost 150 Gold without tanking and weapons.
h. RW Sofia region, You cannot sell battle hero medals.

ALTOGETHER COSTS TO BE PAID TO ADMINS:
845+450+150+160+60+60+150+80 = 1955 Gold without tanking and without having a need to attack 2-3 times the same region, assuming, that everything goes perfect.

THE CHEAPER WAY
a. Declare war to our Bulgarian friends (it is a technical must, needs diplomatic efforts with Bulgaria). It costs 845 Gold.
b. Attack Vidin, Ruse and Plovdiv. Costs 160 Gold. Pay for 2 x Q3 DS to Bulgarians (200 Gold?), altogether 360 Gold. 6 battle hero medals sold = 300 Gold revenue, total cost of 60 Gold
c. Forging a war with Greece by attacking Slavonia (Croatia) and make immediate Presidential Retreat. This way Croatia’s MPPs will be activated. Cost 250 Gold, minus 100 Gold for battle hero medals = 150 Gold. Take care, you need to have a common border with Greece when you attack Croatia!
d. Attack Thrace 150 Gold plus tanking and weapons
e. Attack Macedonia 160 Gold, not to mention tanking and weapons
f. RW in Epirus or Thessaly, otherwise you have to get in war with Turks. You may expect Greeks to fight on the Turkis side! Nevertheless Cost of RW not to mention tanking and weapons = 60 Gold.
g. Attack Epirus or Thessaly 60 Gold
h. Attack Central Greece: Cost 150 Gold without other costs.
i. RW in Vidin, Ruse and Plovid. Costs 160 Gold to give it back to Bulgarians. Battle hero medal cannot be sold, since you cannot retreat from RW, therefore you cannot grant the outcome of the battle.

ALTOGETHER COST TO BE PAID TO ADMINS:
845-60+150+150+160+60+60+150+160 = 1795 Gold

Both alternatives looks to me huge amount of money.
Costs of winning the battles are also to be considered, since serious resistance may be expected.

Possible problems:
1. Bulgaria will bot be partner in this game
2. Turkey will be upset
3. Greece may oppose a very hard resistance
4. Peace may have other plans
5. Croatia and Romania may do blocking attacks!
6. When attacking Bulgaria, Serbia will loose the Indonesian MPP, so Croatia or Romania may immediatelly counterattack. Possible solution: Ask Peace support, MPP with Hungary would be enough.

I know, that these issues looks like uncovering military secrets, but actually they are all well-known tricks and tactical steps. I am sure, this article does not have anything, which is unknown to an Eden / Fortis military tactician.

good luck
