Candidature for President

Hello,
Today I am formally announcing my candidature for president of Austria. I was not asked by the current government to run but it is my wish to continue along the long line of Austrian presidents, if elected I will become the 28th president of Austria and the first elected for Austria in eRepublik Rising. I have assembled a cabinet who I think can carry out the necessary duties required for a good running of our nation and I will contact them all with tasks for the whole of August.

My Cabinet

I have chosen my cabinet accordingly to past experience and incredible knowledge of each subject. Each minister of my government has the ability to choose who they would like in their ministry and it is recommended that we get a few newer members of eRepublik and eAustria into government.

All ministers will have to assign their own Deputy ministers apart from the Ministry of Welfare. I will give you an update closer to the election.

My Policies

Foreign Affairs
I would like to establish some Mutual Protection Pacts with foreign nations in order for Austria to have involvement in wars abroad and to practice fighting in the new war module. We are in a time of rapid change an uncertainty, and our current position grants us far more flexibility to work with different nations and alliances as necessary. I want Austria to have good relations with all nations, although some times this is not possible. I am willing to support and keep Austria in the alliance ONE, although it is the public that makes this decision, but as a founding nation of this alliance I believe we should give it a chance - quite a few people want to give this alliance a go.

I would also like to maintain a strong cordial relationship with France and South Korea over the coming month as we have done a lot for them and they have done a lot for us but this does not stop us from opening up good relations elsewhere, we can expand our friendship to nations such as Canada or Portugal in order to get help when necessary.

I have chosen Rangeley to do this job as Minister of Foreign Affairs as I think he is competent, a good speaker, enjoys the job and has had a lot of experience in this position.

Diplomacy



We are barely represented abroad, this is because we feel no little need to do so being such a small nation. This month I would like to try and expand on this subject with focus on particular nations. This is a subdivision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as a result Rangeley also becomes Secretary of State for Diplomacy. I would like him to select a representative for Austria for the newly created alliance, ONE.

Domestic Affairs



This is a successful yet still evolving subject and ministry in Austria. The ministry itself was formed in June when Fragreg was president and I have been Minister of Domestic Affairs twice, it was, for me a fun job to have. It was formed as a merger between several minor ministries: Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Communication.

As we have been doing for several months beyond the creation of the ministry in question, I wish that we continue to update and write unwritten events in Austria’s past and present to keep everything that has happened available to those of Austria’s future. I want to see our era in the Austrian present to be viewed by a citizen of the future without them having to write the article up themselves - this is not how it should be done.

Another aspect in which the Ministry of Domestic Affairs is responsible is the translation of documents, articles and so on into another language - in our nation these would usually be between English and German.

I have of course chosen Riboldo as my successor and I wish him the very best of luck at his job as having worked with him for a month, I know he will do well because the subject interests him.

Budget



For August I would like to see our budget increase by 10% over the month in general - this will not take into account the amount spent in order to pay for Mutual Protection Pacts.

I would also like to see the budget distributed to certain ministries upon request. Obviously the money would have to be necessary things not just random stuff.

Fragreg has been picked for Minister of Finance for his extraordinary ability of the job he has done in the past and hopefully in the following month as well.

Welfare
I would like the Ministry of Welfare to continue their successful work over the past few months as I believe they have ultimately been the most successful ministry out of them all. I want them to continue supplying jobs to Austrian citizens and continue to write and spread tutorials in order to help new citizens grow. I also wish that they lead a successful babyboom next month, it is greatly needed.

Penegrin is to once again be the Minister of Welfare despite him going to be moving away from Austria. I believe he will do an excellent job as he has done in the past as Minister of Labour. I have also selected Luis Grindl and OEBernd to be his deputy ministers as this position is a rather difficult and time-costly job to be involved in.

Defence



I would like to see an army that is willing to fight wherever they have been assigned to fight, not unlike the Mobile Forces of Austria (MFA). The Ministry of Defence has been led by samu-L for some months now and I believe that him continuing on with this position is only good. I would like to see a greater role of the MFA in fighting abroad and for it to be fought as one or two whole groups.

With regards to the army. I wish to see that an army is formed or continued on into August and tutorials about the military module to be sent to the soldiers so they fully understand the army. I would also like to see that the Ministry of Defence gets an increased budget as the ministry is quite important and this in turn can pay for wellness packs for our more experienced soldiers, rifles for our riflemen soldiers and so forth.

Immigration
I would like to see immigration to Austria regulated and oversee that Austria has a babyboom. I have assigned this position to Japan's Thinh Nguyen. He is, however a former citizen of Austria and I believe he will do well in his position.

Other
I have designated Metallon as my advisor for August, he is a former president and he has a lot of different views to all of the other members of the cabinet, possibly due to him being a much older member of eRepublik than the rest of the cabinet and myself.
