Canadians Support Canadian Businesses
Ministry of Information
One of the most problematic changes with the launch of V1—thou rarely mentioned—was the structure of Business Organizations. In the Beta, owners of SO’s were required to put the ownership information on the SO main page. That requirement is no longer in place for Organizations. As a result it has become much more difficult to determine the actual owner of a business. Since the owners cannot be easily traced, the Government cannot easily identify truly Canadian businesses.
To assist the Government in recognizing these Canadian businesses, and perhaps, develop business stimulus packages, a new method of tracking is required. Going forward, the Government is requesting that all Canadian businesses register their company information on line. The registration form is available at:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?key=pdSqiwlVJ6i6qWrmBlCkoPQ&hl=en
Beginning November 27, the Ministry of Communications will publish a listing of Canadian Companies and a listing of foreign companies. It is our hope that Canadians will take a moment to review the list and ensure that they are working for a Canadian company. We also hope that the list will be used to help Canadian consumers ensure that they are buying Canadian.
We recognize that filling out this form will create an additional administrative requirement for business owners; however, we are confident that in the longer term the registration will be beneficial to Canadians, Canadian businesses, and the Canadian economy. We thank business owners for taking the time to register.
Please watch for the Business Ownership Review article on the 27th.

Alright, filled out the form ^.^
It's incredibly difficult to support Canadian in food because most of the time when I have the time to check, all the food companies are foreign. And I'm certainly not paying an extra dollar to buy from those canadian companies. It already costs me half my daily pay to buy a single q2 food in the first place.
how would you know the nationality of the owner if he simply lies and sends you a false registrarion form? are you gonna check with admin?
no offence but im a Canadian in rl and in game but if i manage to buy a buissiness im not registering it on another website just to prove that im a Canadian bussiness and dont u think ppl from other countries reading this like what Bolonia said except im not lying.
Well, I know it will be laughable to say, but I suppose we should expect honesty when filling up the form.
Take example of Mr. Wilkmot, an honest canadian that do his duty as soon that our Honorable Minister of Communication implement the project of registry. This is a direct example on how us, ecanadian just do our jobs to make our country on the onward track
If the goverment can come up with an idea of a verification agency that insure that only ecanadians sign that registry, I believe this project just might work
Go Québec !!!
I really don't mind
upgrading food to Q2 for cheap price... since I've grain company to supplly it.
But without the govermeent help & shortage of employee I can't
cuz i notice when they reach higher lv they leave for higher salary even if it's 0.1 cent that's mean our economy is so bad
Yeh, anyone can fill out the form and don't worry, we can tell who an org belongs to 🙂
Done
I'll fill the forum out. But I think it would be easier if the owners of the companies would just add themselves to the organizations "friends list."
That is what I have done.. So that people know who owns the company. It is a lot easier and it lets people know who's company it is. Make it so that only the owners can add themselves to the organizations friends list and it would solve all this nonsense!
The unfortunate reality is many canadians live day by day with out the means or ability to show discretion when it comes to which company they will purchase goods from. They purchase the least expensive products on the market i.e. what they can afford. The challange for ecanadian companies owned by ecanadians is to produce goods that compete in price with the foreign owned companies. If domestic companies provided employee incentives like gifting or home loan programs its possible that they might have loyal employee's that could afford to buy exclusively from ecanadian owned companies. There are some fine ecanadian employers out there and then there are others who look at their own bottom line with little regard for their work force and wonder why ecanadians leave to work at a foriegn owned company or buy goods from those companies.
Though it might seem a nice idea at first thought, second one is why would you do that? As long as a company and its OR are established in canada, whats the point of knowing the nationality of the owne. Plus, a number or orgs are run by several managers, who can be from several countries...
well... i did the thing anyway, its short and easy
Notice how all the complaints come from foreign orgs lol
and @Jake Canadians get payed very high, i doubt some can't afford to pay an extra 10 cents to get Canadian Food
its not the amount of the slight difference in cost, its the fact that there is that difference. in a perfect world all ecanadians would purchase ecanadian goods first, but this is not a perfect world. people have dreams of purchaseing a home or a higher quality home or one day owning a business of their own. to do that they must be frugal and save every penny. does one put a penny in a business mans/womans pocket or their own, for some the answer is clear. i completely agree that we all must contribute to the wellness of ecanada's economy but its not as simple as just asking people to purchase domestic goods first, if it was there would be no debate on the matter. do business owners even bother to communicate with their workers to build a relationship let alone assist their workers in some way. many do not, you can not just sit back and lay fault on ordinary citizens for not having brand loyalty, business owners must be creative to compete, to educate consumers. a little sort sighted in my mind to invest money in a business and just expect that people will flock to your brand name even though cheaper products exist. the government can try to educate but the work must be done by the business owner.

John Wilkmot: if you're referring to me, im not really complaining, just wondering about the reasons. I dont think its going to be any difference, so im not really worried, but if i were into politics in eCanada i would say this looks just like a populistic measure...
Well personally i always buy Canadian, it just comes naturally for me (probably from being drilled in my head from March lol) And ya i expect Canadians to not have Brand Loyalty.
But National Loyalty? Absolutely they should.
😁😁^ John Wilkmot
some people need to understand the over all benefit of buying from ecanadian owned companies beyound putting money in the pockets of those ecanadians wealthy enough to own a canadian business. do not misunderstand my point of view, i support ecanada, ecanadians need to see tangle benefits from buying canadian goods. business people need to take an active part in developing a sense of national pride without that its just words and actions speak louder then words. the ministry of information on behalf of the government is trying to educate ecanadians through the media and i appluade those efforts, ecanadian business needs to continue those efforts and make ecanada a great place to work. those who are happy in their employment are far more likely to support ecanadian business and our over all econonmy in the process.
The only real problem with buying Canadian food is that there's no really high quality food on the market at this point in time.
Yes this is exactly what I have been looking for. I look forward to the list.
