Breaking News – Texas Under Attack
To all GHI Oil employees,
Texas is under attack by Columbia. It is possible that the US will follow form and retreat it in order to maintain attacks against Russia. If this should happen, do not be alarmed. I have every confidence that if occupied, Texas will be restored to the Union in short order.
What you should do:
First, I believe that there are no GHI employees in Texas right now. However, if you are in a state that falls under attack, you should evacuate to Florida before the battle ends. Waiting until the battle finishes makes it more difficult to get you out. In any case, you should be in Florida anyway for the Q5 hospital and wellness benefits.
Second, follow DoD orders. Don’t waste fights where they aren’t needed. The military has shown they are quite capable of restoring our states, so help them do their job. The orders can be found here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/dod-orders-194506/1
Third, I intend to keep GHI Oil open for at least the next 48 to 72 hours and see what develops. I believe that the occupation will be short and operations will continue as normal in the short term. You will continue to be paid in USD and can continue to work from Florida. Any product moved from the company will go to GHI Air, so it will not go to supporting the Columbian economy, and will help the US economy in allowing our citizens and troops cheaper prices to move and do their business. There will however be some tax dollars going to Columbia during this time, so for those of you who wish to move on so your income tax doesn’t go to Columbia, I understand and you are free to PM me when Texas is free again and I will do my best to take you back. I will not pay under the table, as it simply is too difficult for me to deliver your wages in a timely fashion.
Finally, if the occupation lasts longer than 2 or 3 days, I will probably consider closing GHI Oil for the duration. I hope that it doesn’t come to this, but if it does, again, I hope you will consider returning once we resume normal operations.
Respectfully,
GHI Management
