Blueprint for the Future #8

So, in V2 we are going to get happiness as another characteristic that will have to be managed and topped up just like health. I assume just working and studying and fighting is probably going to make us unhappy. (No one likes killing people unless they are a loony). But what makes us happy?

Going to the cinema and seeing a really good film? Well Admin have already mentioned that one. So I'm guessing that will create two more industries - Cinemas and the raw material they will use - Movies. Movie studios will hire actors to make films to sell to cinemas. Then they will sell seats to watch those films and we get a one shot boost of happiness. And they could be Q1 b-movies with awful plots and dodgy special effects, or maybe Q5 Oscar winning material.

Watching sport? - What if you could go and watch your favourite team win? Actually, I think I might dedicate a future issue to this one.

Eating a really good meal? When you buy food you might go out of your way to buy really nice expensive food because that will give you more happiness than a regular loaf of bread.

Going on holiday? Every region could be given a tourism rating, high, medium or low, just like raw materials. And when you leave your own country (boosting use of oil and moving tickets) to visit another and stay in a Hotel you are given a happiness boost that will either be large or last many days (depending on how the hotel has customised its products).
