Best Article of the Month (BAM) - Calling All Judges

CALLING ALL READERS
Please leave a comment below or PM me to say you are willing to serve as a BAM judge
The Shameless Plug is calling out to all parts of eCanada for willing judges in the upcoming Best Article of the Month (BAM) for June ’09. It’s as simple as scanning through the articles listed below, deciding which you think merit special recognition, and then ranking 5 articles from 1st (5 points) to 5th (1 point). Sample Judging Form (BAM May’09):http://tinyurl.com/mhpjqy
At the end of the voting period, all marks will be collected and the article with the most points takes the top BAM prize. The five top marked articles will also be entered into the Journalism Hall of Fame – (soon to be transferred to new forums).
It’s easy, it’s educating, and it’s worth giving eCanadian citizens special recognition for their excellent news writing. All we need are a panel of willing judges to read and evaluate the best of the best.
Last month’s BAM awards went off without a hitch as Jacobi took a strong lead with his article. Check out the best of May ’09:
BAM – Now Serving 15 Fabulous Media Fare [WGC]
BAM – Landslide Victory as 100% Vote for Jacobi [WGC]
Recommended Reading – June 2009
From the many articles listed below, 15 will be chosen to compete for the Best Article of the Month. Even though only a select group will make it to the final round of judging, I would like to commend the writers of these articles for providing eCanadians with entertaining, informative, or thought provoking reading. People like you make eRepublik more than just a game about clicking your way to the next level or building up a mound of Gold. Thank you for investing your time and brain power into making eCanada a fuller experience.
(Special Note: To preserve BAM integrity, no Shameless Plug articles mentioned in the Recommended Reading list will not be entered into the contest)

I can judge Plug if you need me
I read things
Voted.
(Special Note: To preserve BAM integrity, no Shameless Plug articles mentioned in the Recommended Reading list will not be entered into the contest)
No articles mentioned will not be entered? Is that a tricky double negative or were you conjoining two thought out sentences, as many of us do on occaison.
LoL. I'm just messing with you. The Plug should be included - just you shouldn't assign the points. Fair square deal right?
Monkees are not supposed to read the fine print
That was a typo - but I'll leave it anyhow. Thanks for offering to judge, Bruck.
Voted!
i'm excited to have two entries
I can judge!
You can judge and have your articles in that list?
Count me in again
Some great pieces in there that I somehow missed. I agree that your stuff should be in there as well. It's amazing , if under appreciated. It looks like the judges are going to be some of the people on your list. That shouldn't pose an issue I'm sure they're all honorable.
The easiest way for me to keep the authors of nominated articles away from judging is to get more volunteers. Either that or disqualify every author who volunteers for judging.
Which option is more fair?
Btw - only 15 will be judged. Not the entire list.
I was nominated! Aahahahahahaha! I'd judge but I'll be in Italy for most of July (IRL) so my time on eRep will be sporadic at best. Still though, the glee I am experiencing at this moment is quite noteworthy.
think we can delay the judging discussion until after the final 15 articles are selected. But an agreement among all judges not to vote for their own articles should eliminate any controversy.
ill judge if you can't find anybody else, but i'm probably not your best option.
Once again, I'd like to put forward my candidacy as a judge for this contest !
