I still believe that v2 has a lot of potential to become a magnificent game (that's why I'm still here, 4-clicking), but I guess the "decision factors" have no interest or enough brains to just do that!
On a more serious note, as an outsider lookin in its become more and more obvious that this game is shit because of the "higher ranking" erep staff, and that the lower ranking you are, the more you care about the game itself.
Am stiut despre continutul a 3-4 insidere inainte sa apara.

When people were screaming "v2 sucks, bring v1 back!" you ignored them and expected them to get use to play. But now, active population number is getting lower day by day.Everyone is leaving, noone registers.
Even me as an addicted v1 player, dont care about anymore.(Already forgot to train about 2 days, but I dont care:))
Soon, there will be noone to play, scream, complain.
funny how...more than a year ago , when i registered , there were 170k citizens. In one month will reach that number. In one and a half year ... the same number of citizens.
@BattalGazi: By the day when v2 was launched i had already left the team. So it was not "me" who did not listen Anyway, i was just as V1-addicted as you, and i feel the same sadness right now.
Thanks for the article. Really sheds some light on the whole situation. Higher ups need to learn to take feedback and realize they aren't always right. Not just the eRepublik team (although it's who I am talking to in this case) but throughout the world that happens all of the time. Higher ups get too blinded and think they are all powerful and they can never do anything wrong, that when someone lower than them says that an idea won't work or is not good, or even suggests a great idea to them, they just don't listen. It's quite sad.
What next? We are just going to leave this game to die? I kind of like the new military module just because you don't have to be a veteran***** to do something on a battlefield. For example in V1 my damage was absolutely insignificant , in V2 i'm in the top 20 Romanian(with citizenship) fighters by damage. And i did that without hundreds of gold , i think i spent under 20-30g fighting(including weapons , WP , food).
Very nice article, finally we shall stop moaning and insulting admins (y'know, shouting admin s*ks and so...) because here we have confession - no matter how hard they try, how much they want to change things and make world better, there are some guys with rights who make their own mind. Moonlightshadow, maybe you should send this article (+discussion) to game owners who really might care and listen to their ex-employee and ex-customer.
Great article and thanks for sharing it. Maybe one day this idea about Rising (or V2) will be the one that everybody wanted, but though truth is that no one will be here to see and play it then.
Great article, really sad... I'll tell you something. I created a web-site during v1, www.erepublik-srbija.com. It was used to bring more people from Serbia to play it. I closed it... Because people will not stand this. I killed it because this game, in this form, where no one listens to you, deserves to die. I'm relatively young - 9.5 months old, but I spent every day in those past months playing erepublik and chating with friends. Articles today are pure spam for what they used to be. When I see top articles today it makes me sick. All the good guys are leaving or left, now there are "average" players who think they know it all. Even chatrooms are empty, and by empty I mean there are few of the guys with whom I started playing already gone. The guy who invited me 10 months ago, left when v2 started, and he was a passionate player. If they don't want to listen, well, there will be no one to listen to very soon...
I really appreciate this honest article, unfortunately there isn't too much to improve. A change like this one, once is done, it makes you happy or bankrupt. The business like business, I won't drop a tear for that, but all the people behind and all the passion doesn't worth the result.
Myself I was trying to point out most of the bad things that brought us here.
Great article Hate to see this game going downhill.
I used to strive to log on daily and do my training/working...now I rarely work and train and if I do it's because i'm bored. I love this game for the community, and as the community slowly leaves my love for the game does too.
It's unfortunate to see yet another great game, and community slowly die out because of developer/admin neglence.

this is exactly the same way the other game I played before this, FPS Americas Army died, the game was good, plus minus few bugs, but then higher ups decided to make it something it was never intended to be, countless idiotic decisions were made, game become one huge shinny pack of nothing, it was slowed down, hundreds of bugs appeared, then they forced developer team to release new version (like in this case erep rising) that was even bigger fail, nobody who played v1 liked it, and now the game is played by maybe few percent of people who played it before , without any chances of bringing new players (since its too slow, too buggy too complicated) and before it was among top 5 online FPS shooters
that was project funded by USA army, and people with no relations to gaming made decisions to introduce those devastating changes, but this is private project and I have no clue why are you trying to self-destruct...
Thanks for the insider looks - the stupidity of the current battle module is well illustrated by the attack-retreat-attack Canada vs UK&France stalemate - time-zone differences makes real battles unlikely
LOL weird is how nuffin changed. They have fewer and fewer citizens, yet it takes longer and longer to get a freaking reply (2weeks and counting for what should be an urgent -unless "seeing training results" can be considered smth else- ticket).
Their fscked the economy, change after change after change...everyone yelled 'dont restrict the number of health, but the number of foods so bigger Qs companies could resist'...
Nothing matter. "Community my arse - a game developed by a bunch of money-sucking-bug creators" - there's your 'Rising motto'.
" eRepublik Rising failed because a couple, just a couple of guys believed that they are right. When so many were telling them that they are wrong. Too bad that they were the decision factors. This really should be a lesson."
you sure you're not talking about out here in the game, on the player side? we have that problem in our eUS government.
you said nothing here. just like your articles you keep on repeating the same things: we tried, we worked hard, poor me, nyer nyer... boring. admit incompetence and get over it!
I appreciate your candid honesty. It only confirms what many of us suspected. A few suits who sit in an office directed the game from it's great potential to a great upset.
"Even chatrooms are empty, and by empty I mean there are few of the guys with whom I started playing already gone." x10000
Couldn't agree more. In V1 times there used to be at least 30 people in chatroom of my unit anytime, not only on when there's battle we must fight in. Now we're happy if that number is bigger than 10. People are leaving this game, it's pretty obvious.
I personally think that V2 is better than V1 in every aspect but numerous bugs, hacks, security holes, unbalanced formulas and so on are ruining the game. Sometimes I just feel that I don't care for this game as I used to 3-4 months ago.
Main problems are battles. Economy will eventually be fixed, but war module (even without bugs) is reason why players leave. Not many people can spend 2h on fighting. I can, but many people that I know cannot. Admins shortened turn times because of this but that created another problem. It's too hard to create strategy and to send commands to soldiers in only 90 seconds. I don't see how this problem can be solved.
Battles are now too dependant on time zones. No matter how strong are you or how many MPPs you have enemy will beat you in 99% of battles if they have been started in a bad time for you. So basically you only retreat it and reattack when you want (that's what's happening in majority of battles).
There was SOMETHING that forced me (and others) to get up early of to stay late at night and to watch ends of epic battles. Something that I can't describe. Really special feeling. Now it's gone.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling admins to return to V1. V2 has potential. Every change is difficult and switching from V1 to V2 was huge one. It's up to admins (or should I say "to those 4-5 powerful people) to do something, to start listening to our wishes or everybody will leave. eRepublik is not the only game of this kind after all...
I firmly believe that v2 is turning this game to a whole new experience. I totaly agree that many mistakes have been made but it seems to me that giving up so easy is an act of irresponsibility on whosever behalf...even yours...
Given an economical "correction" likewise some safety modifications and adjustments that support new players and raise their excitement levels v2 erep could turn into o hole new bright browser game...I mean perhaps there should be no profits for ou guyz for at least a month or two in order to replace our happiness raitings...its that or farewell to your investment..perhaps you ve allready found a new project..turning back to v1 is not a solution is the fatal strike to us all... remastering erep rising is the only way according to me and many of my friends ...should any of remains commited to that project...
Anyway voted ...v2 has a lot of potential i insist
Congrats for the article
It is sad

It really is sad.....
Well done sir, well done. There are other games out there, that may carry on the eRep tradition. We shall see. If you're interested, let me know.
We may have our sand yet.
Thanks for the heads up, it really is quite sad. Best of luck to all citizens.
perfect article!!!!!!!!!!!
Im new ecitizen and i just watch a nice browser game, moving to his end and the admins just watching ppl to leave!
It is sad .... hopefully admins d something to save this game soon...

Thanks for your input. Quite sad, really. It's good to see an (ex) member of the team speaking out. I just hope the decision-makers will smarten up.
