Day 817, 23:59 Published in Ireland Pakistan by Longbaugh

I have decided that my time in Ireland is finished.

Many will proclaim that I'm doing so because my feelings are hurt (this seems to be the everlasting belief as to why I left the United States seven months ago). Of course, that isn't true. It's very hard to hurt Longbaugh's feelings. I would have thought at least that much was understood.

I'm leaving because over the last month I have seen this country deteriorate on a truly weird level. Though, for a nation to deteriorate at all, one would have to presuppose that it stood in high regard in the first place.

I first moved to Ireland in July of last year when the United States became too toxic, dirty, and vapid—politically and socially—for me to care enough to continue being associated with them. Ireland has slowly begun to manifest this same problem. This shouldn't come as that much of a surprise to me or anyone else considering the influence that ex-Americans have in the country's daily dealings.

From patton surreptitiously manhandling Irish foreign policy and usurping The Dagda whenever he can... to Donovan Thomas somehow being able to successfully maneuver around a pointed and direct question regarding his loyalties

I've grown tired of this place.

Patton wants to criticize me and tell me I'm wrong all of the time because he knows that when he eventually capitulates to my initial opinion no one will notice or care. He's allowed to run around like Baby Herman because your average Irish citizen hasn't been around that long and doesn't know the game mechanics that well. In between challenging older players and doing their own research, your average Irish citizen chooses to fall back on profile worship; allowing certain players to get way with just about anything.

And then there's Donovan Thomas. This is a man who commented in the Irish Department of Defence article announcing the deployment of the IDF to Italy's defense that he was going to have fun fighting our soldiers. No one bothered to call him out on it when he was selected (not voted) Vice President of Ireland. He didn't bother to address this—much less apologize—in his article declaring his return to Ireland. Not ten days later, he was rewarded with the second most powerful position in Ireland. Edana Savage never bothered to mention his name once before the election, nor during. And... no one bothered to speak up for the permanent sovereignty of Ireland. Instead, everyone just assumed that Donovan Thomas is a “real cool guy” and no mind was paid to his Theocratic connections. It took a decidedly anti-Theocracy Teachta Dála like myself to raise the issue. In turn, I get responses from numerous people tying my anti-Theocrat stance to my actively seeking out transparency for the citizens of Ireland. Do you see the downward spiral here?

I do, and that’s why I’m leaving.

I’ve decided to move to London and defend her from the ongoing EDEN onslaught. Concurrently, I’ll be resigning my Dublin seat in the Dáil. I’ve simply outgrown Ireland.

Thank you to all who ever supported me in the face of a power structure that’s way too into itself. My final action as a citizen of Ireland will be helping to stop the brewing PTO of the Labour Party.

In the end, I just decided that defending the United Kingdom and helping in her inevitable reconstruction is much more honorable than counting my boogers in the Dáil.

Let my political opponents rejoice. Ireland has lost another field marshal and honest politician.
