Short lesson from Montenegrin history (part II)

Date: 18.July 1876.

Another battle from our war with Turkey.

In terms of men and artillery Turks were three times stronger.

Turkish army had 16 battalions 12 cannons + 2 battalions and 2 cannons under Selim Pasha command.

Muhtar Pasha was informed that Montenegrin army is not ready and he decided to attack.King Nikola than decided to reorganize the army. He gave an order to march toward Vucji Do, and he wanted that our army take place on upper hills. Montenegrin army toke captured those hills couple minutes before Turkish army arrived.

After that King Nikola ordered to our army to attack with all force. Boldly maneuvering of Montenegrin soldiers and their bravery won the battle.

Casualties: Turkish side: around 4000 dead including Selim Pasha, arround 2000 wounded. Captured 21 flag and 3000 guns.
Montenegrin side: 70 dead 118 wounded.
