OKAY LET'S START THE SECOND CHAPTER 😃

Who can resist a cocktail as comforting (in name, at least) as the Old Pal? Sure it’s got the spicy bite of rye whiskey and the bitter charm of Campari, but the unifying addition of dry vermouth brings it all together.

The Old Pal first appeared in the 1922 edition of “Harry’s ABC’s of Cocktails,” a drinks compendium compiled by the head barkeep of Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. It’s stout and delicious – the perfect combination to brace yourself against a cold day. Or just your run-of-the-mill weekday.

If someone of this generation were to drink it, they'd think that is warm and not good at all. The Old Pal created when was a time that refrigerators and ice were rare, the drinks were not colds as they as today. But that was a time when air conditioning didn't exist. even if it wasn't ice cold, it appealed to the customers.

A good drink is not derived by it taste... but also depends on who makes it and who they drank it with. And that is where people hava the memories of others important to them. No matter how much time passes by, the taste of the drink stays forever...
