Avoid Hackers: Click on the Newspaper's Name, not the Article's Title!
*Day 693 UDPDATE: Admins say they fixed the issue. My gold has been returned. Huzzah!*
As you may be aware, on Day 692 of the New World, a hacker or hackers started posting Comments that look blank but actually contain a harmful scr*pt (the word gets removed automatically now so substitute in the i yourself) to steal your gold!
Putting this article up as I've reached my Shouts limit, but I just realized, if you see an article you want to read and click on the Newspaper name, not the Article name, you can still read it from the Newspaper page.
Just don't post or view any Comments and you should be okay.
For instance, for this article right here, you should be at this URL:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/shining-in-the-darkness-194485/1
If you're not at that URL, you didn't follow my directions correctly and you're still at risk for someone posting an exploit in the Comments section of this article.
It will look like a blank Comment, most likely posted by a Level 1 person.
If you're affected by this exploit, send a support ticket in by clicking on Contact and report your stolen gold. You should probably change your password, too.
For the official Department of Defense orders, click on the DoD's newspaper link, not any article links!

boomermaxx
what?
Thanks!
bastards
I really would love to help, but ...huh? Wha' now?
Secure trade windows in MMOs have been standard for years so if you can disguise a link and the admin hasn't fixed that problem well..? New players will say Fuck this shit!
I can't even log on to eRepublik with Firefox anymore. I get a "CSRF attack detected".
And subscribe to the official DoD newspaper, then you won't need anyone to feed you the link.

They sure are sucking the fun out of this game...
Thank goodness it's over now.
