As a soldier I 'listed, to grow great in fame and be shot at for sixpence a day
Fearless Dingo
To those who say we shouldn't have gone to war, those who moaned at our losses, I have this reply:
Sorry chaps but I've had a fantastic war.
Let me explain why. Before I joined the Royal Navy my Wellness was low and, as such, I was a less productive citizen. However, thanks to the orders given to the Navy on how and when to fight and how and when to heal I have returned home rejuvenated. My wellness is in the mid eighties. So thank you to Hassan Pesaran, Ip Lockard, Will Salmon and my squad leader RomanSoldier for making me healthier and more productive.
Another positive result of my orders I now have three currency accounts I wouldn't have had - two of which I prize as "campaign medals" of sorts. I have a French currency account because I was late leaving Normandy, I have a Belgian account because I was in Walloon when it was "freed", and I have an Irish account because I evacuated through there from Normandy.
I fought thricely gaining a few experience points, which has enabled me, along with a loan from Funky44, to start this newspaper sooner, to be able to create a company or organisation sooner, to have the opportunity to stand for election sooner.
I also gained knowledge. I read the forum threads to which I have access, I read the Wiki and I read the media. I now understand how wars and resistance wars work, I know how Mutual Protection Pacts work, I know what a "tank" is, and I know how I can help the military in the future through suggestions and through being a member.
I've met people that perhaps I wouldn't have done if there had been no war. My squadmates, sergeant and colonel for a start.
Finally, the war kept me interested in this game and got me hooked on the community of the eUK. Without it I would probably have returned all my attention to CyberNations by now.
So thank you to those who started the war and supported the war, those who taught me and helped me to learn to fight, those new friends I've met.
I can't wait for the next one

Excellent article Dingo. voted
Interesting experiences. It would be more interesting if instead of saying all the things you learned, you explain them to the rest of the world. Anyway, happy to hear from you!
Patriot, good article, enough said.
Agreed, most of my friends I met through the Navy.

@manflon - You're probably right but I don't believe I could better this article:

Voted, it was a thrilling experience that opened the eWorld a bit more.
Major downside however: eBelgium is divided in an empty Belgo-Wallonia, French Flanders and UK Brussels.

I still tend to think the war was a bad idea, but then I'm looking at it from an economic perspective. On a personal level, I too have benefitted from the war, my wellness having been boosted from about 50 to 99. I still think we need to move away from the war and concentrate on sound policies, but I agree that for many people the war has been a good thing.

@Dimitri Van den Broucke - I totally understand but I'm pretty confident that everybody, at least here in the eUK, will respect what eBelgians want in regard to their future.

Voted! It was a lot of fun, and opened my eyes to lots of issues in eRep
