Another message to Turkey - Part 1
I was surprised to see so much world wide support in my last article I wasn't expecting that much votes and comments so my thanks.
One little thing about the proposal in my last article it might be a little surprising for some people but it isn't the first time we propose similar deal, the only difference is the way it was brought to you by the media instead of contacting Turkish officials and keeping the secrecy and all that.
The struggle continues and so my articles, this one is a quick overview over the current and past situation of minorities in Turkey, and how oppressive Turkish government can be.
Because the article is so big I have to divide in two small parts otherwise it can't be published (game mechanics) one part published today and the other tomorrow.

Now I'll start to quote the definition of what is a totalitarian democracy and what I believe the Turkish regime is based on.
"Totalitarian democracy is a term made famous by Israeli historian J. L. Talmon to refer to a system of government in which lawfully elected representatives maintain the integrity of a nation state whose citizens, while granted the right to vote, have little or no participation in the decision-making process of the government."
"A totalitarian democracy, says Talmon, accepts "exclusive territorial sovereignty" as its right. It retains full power of expropriation and full power of imposition, i.e., the right of control over everything and everyone. Maintenance of such power, in the absence of full support of the citizenry, requires the forceful suppression of any dissenting element except that which the government purposely permits or organizes."
Why Turkey is a totalitarian democracy?
Well first because the game has democracy as a principle, you can't create dictatorship or be a dictator (in theory at least) so because of that basic concept we have the right to vote in Turkey.
Secondly and with utmost importance Turks oppose to any independence movements of Israelis and Greeks because they see our territory as theirs (like some sort of ottoman empire) and oppose any attempt of freedom with what they do best - oppression; either with constant takeover's of any party that is against them or the use of both economic and military tactics to suppress any resistance movement.
To be continued...

I wrote an article about game's "democracy" vision. This game doesn't depends on "democracy". The reason that Turkey's totalitarian democracy is also this.

Another good article. Mehmet - now I've read your artile too - very good. I think there's a lot of work that could be done on the elctions module - perhaps we could even have a choice of electoral systems which a country can choose...?
(BTW I would love to know what the Turkish comments are saying - does anyone know a site for a good turkish-english translator?)
Try this Frank

Moshe, better with every day who pass. Congratz!
If you can understand italian I recomand to you my last article, about the left and right in this world.
we have tried everything to communicate with people non-turkish in eTurkey. you are able to begin a resistance war. this is an option. but there are other options too.
Personally i like Greece people, in eLife i like eGreece people too.
But Israel! Personally i don't like Israel as a country. Because they are using power overwhelming. I have not a problem with people because they are only people. BUT this game is changing my mind step by step. "Moshe Dayan" is a name that belongs to a man who is a fascist and caused a genocide. (search google "Moshe Dayan genocide") This points at e"Moshe Dayan" is how much a nationalist man.
This is an article written by me about PEACE: take a look comments of Moshe Dayan...
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/greeks-isrealis-and-turks-it-s-peace-time--731070/1/all
have a good game
@Seleric, calling Moshe Dayan an "fascist" is... well, hard to find words to describe. In the same logic we may say that every national hero whose guilty of kilings (even Ataturk) so, I think is better for us to really join the game and stop making such afirmations.
About Israel, well, I just give you something to think about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpilXpuFVD8&feature=related
And, I have to tell you, I also like Greece to .
@Seleric I'm Greek in real life, although you said good words I must remind you guys, that this is a game, that means that noone of us know the character of the other person with discuss,so we shouldn't judge by just a name.As Marius mentioned above the heroes of each nation are the curse of its enemies. How do Persians might feel fro Great Alexander for example? And something esle look at eFrance e.g the wars there, are these wars happening in real life?Of course not.The ecitizens there see eRepublik as it is,a game only,so they don't bring the differences they might have in real life in-game.Of course the game needs strategy, conquering, dividing revolutions etc,but why couldn't nations who argue in real life ally here?
Bla bla bla.
There is a good word for this:
"Toprak verilmez, alınır"
"Land won't given, it taken" (i don't sure about translation)
if you don't wan't to live with us, you have to fight for it.
@Battal, matza,! I belive you allready know what it means.
FREE eISRAEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Turkey, you should consider turning into a federation.

Voted , didn't expect anything more from Battal the Terrible
@Battal if you don't want to participate in a serious discussion, just don't post anything,"Bla bla bla" doesn't lead to any logical solution.
Pesao el moshito ese.
Te vas a callar de una vez.
Deja en paz a los hermanos turcos y coge otro país, que ese no es tuyo
actually, Nobody wants peace. People (who is Greek and Israili) just want country... Peace is so far,
you blame the Turks about some antidemocratic application, maybe you're right but if Turks is democratic, would you live in peace together?
i think That's only big "NO"...
you just cavil...
But we always try to live in peace,
You can't ask a question concerning us and answer it yourself Peace comes only when people feel safe and free
excuse me, why i can't ask a question,?
you're right, i can't answer, but i just said my estimate
netameli +1
Your estimate is based on trust. So it's completely up to you,so that the answer to that question can change. You just have to trust us.
Ruzgarli : I don't see how we can live in peace when you have occupied our land. Our people just have to live together permanently , no matter what you do the loyal eGreeks will never abandon their birthplaces and soon more and more eGreeks will return here.
Anyway , have you checked the economic figures of eTurkey? I don't think you can afford to lose the extra workforce from eGreeks and eIsraelis
freedom : War without it is impossible quite...

@moshe:
Turkey is not a continuation of ottoman empire.
and you should read eHistory.. can you read?
you have made up those things to find people who help you to save your country... Haven't you???
bla... bla... bla...
Turkey and Romania are federations... or empires.
If they could, today we ware speaking about another empires: Greece, Israel, Russia, Ukraine etc. etc. But this are not empires... more than that, they doesn't exist anymore.
Speaking about "totalitarian democracy", which democracy is not totalitarian in the same time, for some citizens or organizations?

@Gabriel,nobody from us wants to be an empire. There can be true democracy,it's hard to be established but not impossible. You just have to be neutral, and think and act not based on your nationality
re u kidding? you have to look yourself!
I am eGreek so what I do is not so important with what your leaders do.We made proposals, which can be thought as middle solutions,so it's your turn,And believe me with what we live I'm so neutral as noone else can be..ask your friends about it;)
delikanlıysanız gelinde alın lan. deliğikanlılar
@Makoulian
u made proposals? is tere any serious one?
ok let me make a proposal to you as you did
why dont u turn upside down and use your keyboard with your nose and then u ll fight for resistance of aliens with a eUFO to survive them out of eMOON.
Its a proposal too..and as serious as u did before..(not you personally, the wrong ppl you choose as leaders did)
Well I read your proposal, but didn't understand a thing, maybe you can rewrite it...And yes we made proposals, you can't get evrything you want, neither you nor us,it's a middle solution the one we must find.
Thats a good point.. But.. Its up to you to CHANGE the totalitarian democracy into a real one, or just start a resistance war and "run away"..
It's not up to us,it's up to Turks 'cause it's them who rule.
Yup so god damn true..
Voted and looking forword to part 2..
biktirdi bu heriflerde.. yiyosa makale acip artistlik yapacaginiz yerde isyan cikarin bir an once...
Soon we will not depend on the eTurks and their wretched so called democracy.A democracy where the governing party directly and without shame supports organizations and acts in order to bring more profit to its leaders, not the people of eTurkey.
Your economic policy is a joke , and as soon as the citizens of eTurkey realize that you are not going to have a problem only with minorities that just want freedom , but with your own citizens that desire a respectable life.
Your irony about UFO and aliens shows your ignorance and indifference for the problems of the eGreeks and eIsraelis , that are a significant part of the population, not to be ignored ! So when you don't give us a way to make our voice be heard , we have to use any means necessary. So if you don't hear our voice , you're gonna hear the sound of our weapons when they aim at you. Just when you are running away from the rebellions and try to hide in a shadowy corner , remember that you brought this on yourself. The people were screaming for their rights and all you did was to ignore them. So come on eGreeks , eIsraelis and oppressed eTurks , the time is right to fight for a better fight. Better dead and free than alive and ashamed !
ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑ Ή ΘΑΝΑΤΟΣ
FREEDOM OR DEATH
irony about aliens..oh mann your totally totally totally doesnt have a clue what I meant above.
moreover you think "your made up comment" is a reality and then u made lots of more comments about it..
you really doesnt have a clue what i meant above..but still u thought u must comment even u didnt understand one single thing..
u really need to learn to read a comment to relpy that, thats lesson one..
tomorrow will be lesson 2..class dismiss:))
let's start a resistance war!!!
Victory or Death!!!!!!!!

Irony and more irony! Typical of you.
