Another Apology From a House Of Commons Member
ThomasR26
Like Rastari posted in his article, We (the Congress) were not consulted what so ever on the issue of the PTO and I wish to extend my apologies too all citizens of the Czech Republic for this. I hope any tensions between UK and the Czech Republic can be resolved. This was a decision made PURELY by the PM and Military Officials, which has not been agreed with by many people, along with a potential impeachment. My best wishes in regaining what was wrongly taken from you.
Thank you for reading.

A commons vote to return the lost funds would be a good start.
This is currently being discussed. With luck everything can soon start to be repaired
I will push too have the money returned

Good luck!
Thankyou.
If you send us all moneys back, we can have again friendly relations.
Are you holding us to ransom? Cause I don't see you getting ANY of your fish back...
We must embargo the British and ask for international sanctions against the thieves who stole our trust and then our gold.
I ask the Czech President and Congress to pass a resolution and to contact their counterparts around the globe.
We want our money back, Britain.
With interest added.
Eadie, I love your attitude. It's ok to plunder us because, hey, might makes right, correct? How very 21st century of you.
We're getting our gold back. You had no right to do this and this is being brought before the court of world opinion as this is being typed.
How can you condone this criminal action? Have you no conscience?
The fact is the rest of the world doesn't care!
You have no right to the gold, that was won fair and square in a democratic vote. The currencies, I can see your gripe. You say we had no right, maybe it is morally wrong, but the fact the admins allow it means we do.
Maybe morally wrong? You're morally bankrupt. And you don't speak for the rest of the world.
You know what's wrong with you? You were brought up wrong. You see an opportunity to take someone to the cleaners and you just do it. "It's not illegal! OH, THERE MIGHT BE SOME MORAL PROBLEM, BUT I HAVE NO MORALS!"
That's what you're saying. And I agree with you.
You have none. Shame on you.
We may have no morals, as you say - but we've still got all your money...
"And you don't speak for the rest of the world."
Check out the newspapers from the rest of the world, or the offical forum. Pretty much nothing. Basically no one cares.
I'm afraid further discussion on this matter is fruitless. You're right. No one cares that you stole our gold and our money. I've tried to do the right thing here and get back what was wrongfully taken from my country's treasury.
So every new country is going to experience this sort of rape. Maybe we should form a support group... "raped by robber barons survivors".
Have a swell day!
It is not true that the rest of the world does not care about this shameful act by the UK, and the comments by Eadie only make the likelihood of international intervention more likely. Commons should move to return the money ASAP.

Its been discussed, sadly at the moment not many people agree with returning it.
Just because we don't respond to provocative posts by UK citizens/paras and the Navy CO doesn't mean that we are not ready to take the next step.
I can't tell what the international community is doing but I believe that they were waiting for the CZR and UK to solve this problem between themselves. Looking at the current state of things, that is not likely to happen..
I've had discussions with Radim. He is of the opinion that an embargo would likely have no effect. And to some degree, I agree with him.
However, as Czechs, when the Warsaw Pact came rolling in on us, and the situation was quite hopeless, we at least made a show of it. Switching street signs around, confusing the hell out of the invaders, and keeping the radio waves going as our nation's capital was occupied.
Even if it is just symbolic, we must take the moral high ground and refuse to do business with the United Kingdom. I ask Radim to reconsider his position on the matter and implement the embargo as soon as possible. We're not a warlike people. We just want to live our happy lives free from tyranny of evil men.
IMO, an embargo is the least we can do.
We'd be laughing stock for them, a crying babies. There's no point in imposing trade embargo, and because it's valid for 30 days, it could damage our future realtionships.
Moreover, it has been determined that this has been the action of individual (or a small group), the decision wasn't made by their Congress. Nobody knew that their President was planning to TO us. We can't punish whole nation for the mistakes of few.
Laughing stock or no, we must not do business with thieves. I think the future incoming administration would attempt to form a better relationship with us if they realize the extent of the damage done to us by rogue elements in their midst.
Last I checked, we were a sovereign nation. The President of the UK was voted in by a plurality of votes. No one knew that George Bush was going to invade Iraq, did we? Or waterboard, torture and detain people without charging them for crimes?
And the US has a long way to go to normalize relations after the damage done by the Bush administration.
And just like the USA, the UK will never get around to it if WE REMAIN SILENT. We must not sit on our hands. The world is looking to us right now to take some course of action before announcing their own. Let us put our interests first and be righteous in doing so.
We certainly aren't silent. Franz Kafka has ensured that both citizens of UK and Atlantis heard about this. I personally made sure that current candidates running for presidency in UK know about this.
I just think that the outcome of embarging UK would be slim at best. No one will even notice it, and if they do, they'll just laugh. A nation robbed of it's money looks better than a bunch f crybabies, looking for a revenge with any means.
Maybe our nation is a baby compared to the UK, but what is wrong with calling out the bully who takes advantage of his superiority? What has happened to standing up for what is right?
Have you looked at how developed the administration is in the UK? These values they cherish have been violated by their own soldiers. If we will be a laughing stock to them, then they will become the laughing stock to everyone. People have been calling for citizenship all over the world, and a democratic country has occupied another democracy's congress with their soldiers.
If we don't stand up now, who will stand up for all those countries facing similiar aggression, and what will we do next month when another country will try the same with their soldiers?
The least we can do is to inform the British citizens on how corrupt their leaders have become. An embargo would help us gain interest of their citizens on why we did so.
We did stand up, that's my point. It's not necessary to do anything else, and it's kinda late for that. We should have had this discussion 4 days ago.
I say we wait until the presidential elections end, and if their new President won't return our money back, then we should impose an embargo on them.
We didn't have this discussion 4 days ago because we didn't know what is actually going on. No, we didn't stand up. We just raised our hand, which got ultimately ignored.
Discussions take time to evolve. I think most Czech citizens would rather condemn this action immediately rather than wait and see what happens in a foreign country and count on the goodness and generosity of a land that has already raped us?
Fool me once...
This is starting to get noticed worldwide.
If nothing else, your former PM, Dish, is stirring the pot by asking in US forums, (and I paraphrase) how is it that the UK insisted on fining the US for not giving notice of an attack on a PEACE member, but the UK is not being called to account for PTO'ing an ally?
I think he's wrong on two accounts there-- I don't think CZ is in ATLANTIS, and I don't think there's a provision requiring notice of PTO's.
Still, barring some compelling explanation, such as CZ was about to join PEACE, etc., it looks like a blemish on the moral standing of the UK, which up till now has made a point of being a moral beacon in eRepublik.
The current Czech president was and even still is pushing for joining Atlantis, in which propably most citizens would have supported him until a week ago. We have a MPP with the USA.
What makes a PTO any different from a TO?
A democratic country's soldiers took over the congress of another non-hostile democratic country, tried to impeach the president and took money from the national treasury.
Start the Embargo proceedings and put it to a congressional vote. Let our elected officials decide.
I always knew Hassan was a dick.
