Announcing May Tax Rebates

Day 1,645, 06:33 by eAus Department of Information

Announcing May Tax Rebates

Citizens of Australia rejoice! A tax rebate has been approved as part of this term's budget to the amount of $200,000. With our war and emergency reserves deemed sufficient and income tax reduced to 1% the administration has produced a balanced budget by returning last month's surplus to Australian taxpayers.

To apply for your tax rebate you need to be an Australian citizen, with a registered account on the Australian community forum and membership of the Aus Citizens membergroup.

Once you've met these conditions, just post a reply in the tax rebate thread with a link to your citizen profile.

Q: I don't have access to the forum thread to apply for my rebate?
A: You need to be registered on the forum and a member of the Aus Citizens group.

Q: How do I register on the forum?
A: Go to http://community.auserepublik.com and click the 'Register' link

Q: How do I get access to the Aus Citizen membergroup?
A: Login to the forum and request membership at this link - http://community.auserepublik.com/index.php?action=profile;area=groupmembership;

Q: How much money will I get?
A: It depends how many register. The total tax rebate will be divided equally among the number of applicants.

Q: I don't need the money, what should I do?
A: You don't have to apply, the fewer people apply the higher the rebate will be for those who do need the money. If you want to be more targeted you could apply for the rebate and donate it to a needy soul in return for Karma and goodwill.

Q: Wasteful socialists, why do you take with one hand and give with the other?
A: We are taking from a mystery shopper and giving to real citizens, this is a net win for Australian taxpayers. See this article for further information about the mystery shopper and our tax reform.

Let me get this straight - the rich who bought shit loads in the game who have fought against the tax imposed to date get it redistributed because why? An RP government wants to give back an in-game imposed levy on citizens by indulging in more roleplay? Screw the forums - play the game.

Now introducing a socialist government worse than Gillard..

Paul J Keating
Paul J Keating Day 1,645, 12:45

@TJ - the vast majority of our tax is not collected from citizens rich or poor, it is collected from the mystery shopper who indulges our over-production. This is a pure game-mechanics initiative, no need to RP ideology and class warfare. Tax rates are now very low both by historical standards and international comparison.

I will buy TJ bigger panties!

Just out of curiosity how is the constant lowering of the bot prices affecting out tax revenue? I feel that maybe its best to hold on to that 200k. Admin are obviously up to something with the bot.

Majester
Majester Day 1,645, 14:39

Senate has a full review on that and MoF is monitoring it. This surplus was from last term. The plan is to constantly evaluate it. That said, we have a buffer built up (budgeted every term) should revenues experience dramatic changes.

It should read,

You sign in, post your link, and ignore the forum until the next rebate. No different from a gdoc form, publically auditable, its where the government lives and with no need for extra coding. More for us if you don't.

Zarabos
Zarabos Day 1,646, 00:07

Forum is lame.

The rebate is a bribe intended to ceorce participation in the llama pasture. Crass neo-nepotism contingent on the support of the support of needless complexity added to the political aspect of this game.

...Except when admins abuse their power to edit posts they don't like, ban or ticket members they don't like and otherwise engage in rampant factionalism.

why don't you help new players , checked not being multies, to get higher Q houses or get their free train building to a higher level (q2 from q1 or q3 from q2) when the next -44% offer pops up?
this way eAUS will get stronger,
young players will have extra ff and/or greater strength

not houses, health buildings, sorry

Majester
Majester Day 1,646, 06:00

New players are welcome to spend the money for upgrades. It is their money. The reason we do not have a direct upgrade program is because we cannot find a way to ensure that the money isn't wasted on multies. The idea has popped up a few time over the last months, and has yet to have a workable solution.

The Ministry of Education's ears are open to any ideas to help players up to level 23.

k0llht0s
k0llht0s Day 1,646, 10:14

@ Maj,
level 23 now is just 2-3 days in the game, not like it used to be
Make it between 26-30, so you know that the "noob" will go on playing.
Can always sent tickets to the admins to check the accounts that will aplly for money.

Captivate
Captivate Day 1,646, 17:11

Yeah I got to level 25 in three days, it was too easy.

CyberCasper
CyberCasper Day 1,647, 04:25

Sadly, those first days are when you need it - as a level 29er, I'm wholey against supporting anyone my level, as I personally am just about self sufficient, and I didn't spend money on this game.

@Maj, I'll have to chat to you some time, I've got a few idea's but at present all my time is going into either work or the senate elections ;
