Fellow eUS Citizens, I would like to take a moment to explain some recent events and break out my cheerleader's outfit. The skirt's out of style, so forgive me, but at least it still fits.

The current war against PEACE GC has dealt the eUS many setbacks. It is very disappointing and frustrating to me, my cabinet and the military. I am quite positive that all of you are growing tired of seeing defeats as well. I have complained to the eRepublik admins about the game mechanics exploit that PEACE is using where our walls are nullified by retreat and reattack but my appeals have been for naught. I have been told that this is how the war module works. We will have to regroup and forge on.

Kansas has fallen to the combined forces of PEACE GC. We will retake Kansas. Mark my words: the US will see better days. It is our manifest destiny to rise above adversity, it is in our national spirit to regroup, reorganize, reform and do better. We must. We will.

Today, my personal advisor, cabinet member and Under Secretary of State Chris Stanwick resigned. I asked for his resignation because he posted the contents of a peace treaty currently under negotiation with PEACE GC in the Umbrella Research Party forums. The contents of the treaty were still restricted viewing but had been released to Congress for input. They were not yet approved or sanctioned by my administration but only posted so Congress could get an understanding of what PEACE GC's terms were. Chris was not involved in the direct negotiations of this treaty and was asked to write an initial draft for review. This is a gross violation of my, my cabinet's and Congress' trust. It is for this reason that I asked for his resignation.

There is a subtle, but important reason between material posted for Congressional input and that posted to the general populace. As much as I would like to have the entire US population's views on a proposed treaty it would be completely workable. We elect representatives for this reason, to keep discussions and input to a controllable amount. The fact that Chris went behind my back and posted this proves to me that he is not trustworthy enough to work for me, in my cabinet or my administration. I believe that he is motivated by personal political reasons and would seriously hope that voters would look at this carefully.

Negotiations with PEACE GC to end the war are currently ongoing. While a proposed treaty has been drafted, it is by no means finalized. The current treaty would, quite simply, allow PEACE to pick off our allies, one by one, in the 4 month period while we had a Non Aggression Pact. When the 4 months were up, we'd have no allies, PEACE would have our gold, we'd be broke, and PEACE would invade us once again. We will continue to fight PEACE GC on the battlefield and do everything we can to resist their occupation. All I ask for in the coming days and weeks is for eAmericans to follow the general orders when updated and not to fall victim to the fear and anger that is running rampant amongst us. Hang in there. We shall overcome.

Let me further state my intent to run for re-election. I will not be campaigning. My body of work and how hard I am trying to see us through this crisis speaks for itself. If you want a President to surrender to PEACE for you, vote for Chris Stanwick. If you want a President to fight against PEACE, do his best to keep our regions, and protect the interests of our allies at home and abroad, vote for me.
