An Honest View on ''Dignity''
NoTie112
Dear readers,
In my last article, ''An Honest View on Elitism'', I shed a light upon the perpetual establishment that has been apparent in the eDutch state ever since it's existence. In this article I will discuss their main opponents, those that challenge their authority and position. Between those 2 factions there's an almost irreparable and dysfunctional relation due to misunderstanding and prejudices. The establishment see their challengers mostly as populists and unable to govern, while vice versa the establishment is regarded as arrogant, elitist and salesmen of our country and pride.
This process is natural in a democracy. Good politicians know how to handle their challengers in such a way that they can stay atop, while meeting to (some) of the demands of the challengers in a tactical way. However, that's not always the case in the eNetherlands. Prime example being GPN, a radical anti-establishment party, essentially ruling our country as Kaisers for almost 2 years. You would think the establishment will draw conclusions from those events, but sadly they didn't. Once again they're preparing themselves to hand power over to their challengers unconsciously. A move I can appreciate, if only it goes smoothly. When GPN had the power in-game, there were still institutions which GPN couldn't lay their hand upon. Partly because they excluded themselves, partly because the establishment is almighty in the institutions like IRC and the National Forums.
Despite what it looks like, this article will be a lesson for the challengers. Time has shown that the establishment is not capable of progressing, only clinging on to their power and causing chaos and political strive within our country. It's the opposition's opportunity - and responsibility - to take over but evade throwing our country into chaos like GPN and the establishment together did.
Take your responsibility!
First of all, we ought to participate and take our responsibilities. Don't be an outsider! Don't evade hard-needed institutions like IRC and the National Forums because they are ''dictated by the elite''. By staying away, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and makes governing a hell, as these institutions are needed for a good ruler and not to be abused by opposing factions in a civil war-like fashion. Show your voice at the forums, at the IRC. Sign up for Government. Consolidate the power we currently have, but are not using. Gain respect and gain those hard-needed political skills which are so hardly needed. We too are to learn from events of the history, like the success and failure of the GPN movement.
We too are to learn from events of the history, like the success and failure of the GPN movement and other opposition factions. Present a vision, take your responsibility and acquire those needed political skills like the ability to respectfully and persuasively orate and the capability to use nuances. It's apparent our opportunity to take power comes soon. Let it not become a period of chaos like GPN & The Establishment collectively did in the past, but let it become a shining light in a dark history.
Revolution doesn't work if our power (rea
😛the power of the Government & Congress) isn't felt in every chamber, street and institution of our country, while being led by political savages.
Comments
"Savages" I like that, sounds better then elite!!!
If you had read the article, you would have known I called the so-called opposition ''savages'' in their current situation. 😛
Screw dicknity
I dig the gain respect part though.
What the hell is dick-nity anyways.?
Exactly, lol
interesting article!
Too much vote buying 😛
NoTie has always has the most loyal subscribers. 😉
And of course the biggest political party to back his articles. 30 votes definitely shouldn't be an issue. 66 is indeed a bit weird.
Min votes bought are 50.
I agree: everyone should be involved in the decision-making process. It matters, even if you only care about the war game aspect of eRep. Because our gov and congress determine our diplomacy, who we have war with, etc.
Secondly, the forum and IRC are places where eRep becomes truly social. Talk about anything with other people! It doesn't have to be about eRep stuff.
I'm inclined to say: the elite is what you want it to be.
If you want to feel a complete outsider, go ahead, and don't interact with others; isolate yourself. You'll most definitely experience the feeling of an elite making all decisions for you.
If you on the other hand do use the interaction abilities, people will hear your opinions and take them into account. You'll be able to help in the decision-making process. It'll definitely feel like you're part of the elite...
So actually: everyone can be part of the elite. That would be an ideal world, where everyone participates: a true democracy. I'm afraid we won't reach that state in eRep, let alone in real life. But as people get new technological opportunities to interact with politicians, there definitely still is hope for the future.
I believe GPN more or less filled a void created by the departure of a majority of core I&W'ers like Auggy, Luuklag, and myself. Had those people stuck around, GPN couldn't have done the amount of damage they did.
Revolution to restore the kingdom! Who's in?? Anyone? No..?
Ah the return of the King. About time too. Only problem is you will now be forced to take an Hungarian wife as well.
No problem, she will make me and my soldiers some goulash 😃
and ask one of our rogue Senators to accept your CS because our gov has a no immigration policy 😉
Sounds like I should bring my inquisition with me 😉
Save us Majesty!
There is no king, you were never chosen as King, you just took the title. You are nothing more than a pretender to a vacant throne
Are you saying there is an actual eNL Throne? 😛
I am saying there could be one 😛
Still taking things serious lolz! I am the king of anyone that accepts me as king 😃
the only good king is a dead king.
I will pass that to our national security 😉
you do that. down with the monarchy! long live the republic!
