An Honest Review II ( Oblige The Fish Edition)

Oblige aka Daniel (To me at least)

Forever known as a Whale to the Public, Oblige is an interesting figure in his own right. His most defining figure would be his lust for power and control. He seems to never be content unless he has his fingers on the trigger. Whether it be his constant attempts at long term control of the presidency or his need to forever be in congress, Oblige is glued to important positions.

Oblige has embraced fully the idea of self-pity. If anything goes wrong with his plan, expect to hear him whining and complaining. He is very good at this; I suspect he has practiced for many years. When he isn’t wallowing in self-pity, he is taking credit for other people’s work. He is notorious for this and has gained a great deal of disdain for it; nonetheless he has continued this practice.

Oblige most contemptible tribute would likely be is treatment of his friends. The best and most horrifying example would be his betrayal of Younghood after he dedicated months and months ensuring his election and later his safety from censorship Oblige turned on him and forever ostracized him. Some people may think they are Oblige’s friend, but they are really just a resource to an end goal. Obliges has no friends, he merely plays chess with the pawns.

All things considered I wouldn’t be doing him any justice to posit that he is ineffective. Oblige is maybe the most effective player in the entire game, he has even placed the forever polemic figure of Pfeiffer between a whale and a hard place. I must proclaim my enjoyment for their rivalry as watching dogs eat dogs does have its entertainment value.

Despite all my hate for Oblige’s tactics I have never been able to gleefully hate him with as much zealous as I would like. It seems that I always try to renew some sort of positive relationship, whether it is my naiveté or Obliges ability to pull the wool over my eyes I must say, I have found myself crawling back to him more than once. Knowing fully well, that the relationship is more or less superficial. There is perhaps a forever esoteric quality to him, and one day I might be lucky enough to understand it.

In the end, it could be very well postulated Oblige is merely just a clumsy benevolent character. He intends to do well and to bring about a better tomorrow but seems unable to work in a meaningful relationship to bridge gaps with others. Oblige has done his fair share for the country, paying out of pocket for programs and resources, much more than other people. He just at times seems to be rather capricious, some may claim even intending the destruction of others, but I put forth his goal is to do what is best for the country.

In terms of real life, Oblige is very successful and for that he has earned my respect. While his in game behavior is less than desirable his success in the private sector goes to show the American ideal. For respect, I must keep the real life segment at a minimum but know that Oblige is a very wealthy and successful figure.

Needless to say, Oblige is a mixed bag, blinded by his devotion to the country he often finds himself stepping on the shoes of others and then embracing self-pity as he finds himself under attack. I hope you share my thoughts and feeling.
