An Analysis of Gaius Julius' Platform

Day 893, 20:30 Published in USA USA by Caden Cotard

Today I’m presenting an analysis of the platforms of the candidates for POTUS. I’m trying to be thorough and fair. If you feel I’m not fair in my analysis, feel free to comment here or send me a PM.

Both main candidates, Gaius Julius and Harrison Richardson are former presidents. They released platforms around the same time. I’ll start with Gaius, because I’m in the Federalist party and he has our party’s endorsement.

Gaius Julius’ platform is based around five main points. Arguably the main focus of his presidential campaign is his previous reputation. This could backfire, as he is running against one of the best politicians in the eUS, and statistically, most living voting age citizens were not around for his previous administration. He has recently released a highly publicized article about foreign policy, which serves to benefit him. To keep in the public spotlight, releasing more articles about current issues would be a good idea.

That brings us around to the first point of his five point platform: It states that we as a country will recommit ourselves to our allies and begin taking risks again. While that may be interpreted as a rather vague point, given recent events, it’s important. As Gaius mentions in his platform, Hello Kitty was executed largely without eUS support. Recommitting ourselves to our allies is a necessary step to becoming a relevant power again. Arguably, our public opinion of EDEN has improved since the eUS left, especially with the recent victory in HK.

The second goal says we need to control our media. This is admirable, as DoD orders are often not even in the top five. I remember when I was a new citizen back in October at least one day’s worth of DoD orders would always be in the top five. However, the goal again leaves out specifics. How will we control our media? Who will be in charge of designing a program?

The third point involves coming up with long term goals. Everyone who was around before Karnataka remembers the rush and unity (however brief it was) we felt temporarily liberating parts of China. This game does feel better with goals, however again this is lacking in specifics. If the public doesn’t know about the goals, they’re pointless as propaganda and morale raising tools.

The fourth point reenforces the importance of communication. This is one thing Gaius Julius has proven to be very effective with. He has many friends in high places in many different nations. However, when a presidential candidate talks of communication, the public at large thinks of articles released and transparency. There has been a lack of communication between the executive branch and the public at large recently. This is a problem that is one and the same with the loss of control of our media. Presidential articles almost always end up in the top five, and can do a great deal for rallying up a bored nation at large. How can the public at large trust a presidential candidate to maintain communication with them if that communication is not maintained during a presidential campaign? More articles should be released before the fifth to keep the public aware of this promise.

The fifth point is asking for ideas. Everyone wants more ideas, but this point again could use more specifics. It talks about giving individuals who come up with ideas opportunities, but doesn’t talk how or what. It remains unclear, but this is a point that seems to be reaching out to new players, which is admirable.

Gaius was the favorite for this race going in. However, the race against Harrison Richardson is going to be a tough one. HR is going all-out with his campaign, writing multiple articles and running ads in the media already. My analysis is that Gaius Julius needs to pick up the pace to keep up. HR is a brilliant politician, and is working very hard to be the citizen’s choice on presidential election day. Especially with stressing communication as key in his platform and promising more articles in the future, Gaius should keep in contact with the public. HR has released his Vice President and some of his cabinet already, while GJ has not released anything past his platform. Though it says on the forums that Newton is his VP, no official announcement has been made.

I want to see this race be as close as possible. The country needs a divisive, close race to get us more interested in the game. For that to happen, Gaius needs to step up his game.

My analysis of HR’s platform will be released within the hour.
