My humble gratitude goes out to those who voted yesterday, not only for me but also for our AMP sponsored and endorsed candidates.
My thanks especially to those who tolerated my political panhandling on IRC last night as I sought to find voters to cover our candidates.
I also wish to thank the candidate who directed voters to myself and Jameson-- those were the exact number of votes by which we both led at the end of the night, and winning by a couple sure feels better than sweating a tie or losing.

It was my desire, in requesting to be moved from Louisiana, not only to dodge a contest I felt I could not win but more so to avoid a circus sideshow atmosphere campaign.
It has been my desire, for some time now, to tone down the hostility between myself and my detractors. Mature dissent and civil behavior is possible if everyone plays the same way.

I've found two things particularly disturbing through the past week or so, though.
One is that my detractors continue to berate and slander me, even accuse me of un-patriotism and conspiracy to undermine the process.. whether I publish that the sky is blue, or announce my candidacy, or contribute a quip along with their own jokes in a thread, or contribute a meaningful thought or question to a topic.. the attacks continue no matter what.
The other is that the game public in general, my readers and supporters as well as my detractors and other casual watchers, have bought into the perception portraying me as a crackpot and circus sideshow. My articles which lack purposeful inflammatory remarks and images don't get the votes, my quiet and clean campaign didn't get the votes.

So if my place in this game is to be a clown on fire for others' entertainment, I am sorely disappointed. Players who see me this way will be disappointed to find this to no longer be the case.

What kind of game do you play, what kind of players do you like to align yourself with?
What kind of leaders do you want, what kind of leadership do you expect of them?
What kind of country do you want to "live" in and play for?
