Join the new world

As mentioned in my last posting, my immediate goals are to work hard to level up on my construction skills, buy good food to boost my wellness as well as stock up before venturing toward another goal. With basic storage of 20 slots, with one of them used for the House and reserve another for a moving ticket, I can afford to stock up to 18 units of Food which will last me 18 days if I were to venture into something or someplace where Food is unavailable or expensive.

The common store of value in eRepublik appears to be Gold. So, that would make an obvious candidate for a next goal. And it would also conform to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. With sufficient food and health, the next step to accumulate wealth, perhaps to save up for a better House later in the game or even save up generally for other expenses.

The above website gives a quick tabulation of the countries that pay best (in the common Gold currency) for each skill type and level. But do be aware that it is only a guide and there are shortcomings:
* It compares only the best-paying companies and does not indicate the quality of the company so a 4-star company in one country does not compare well with a 1-star company in another.
* It does not show the depth of the job market. I personally prefer going to a country that has a few companies offering jobs near the best wage level than another where only one company is offering good wages and the other far far behind.
* The comparison between currencies is based on the fluctuating exchange rates which can change at a moment's notice when a gold-selling company's stock is sold-out or another company comes in with a better rate.

Whatever the shortcomings, the erep.cc website is a very good starting point for anybody wishing to find a country that pays good wages to help you stock up on Gold.
