Actually, you do not care about this

When I logged in to eRepublik today, I couldn’t help noticing an unusual banner informing me and other players of this online game about the introduction of “Albania and Kosovo” in eRepublik. Of course, I clicked on the link and read thoroughly a short blog post about this.

Well, apparently, creators and admins are seriously pondering about regions of eAlbania and the status of eKosovo. Being transparent and open, they are asking us to share our views with them and help them out.

I find this insulting, disrespectful, dishonest, cheap and frankly, pathetic.

I feel that creators and admins of this game do not care what we think. I feel that creators and admins of this game do not care which regions will form eAlbania. I feel that creators and admins of this game do not care about “the status of eKosovo”.

I feel that they just want to create a buzz, stir emotions, cause an uproar and lure more people in this game. And that is why I feel that this kind of behaviour is insulting, disrespectful, dishonest, cheap and pathetic.

And I am not saying this as a Serbian with a specific view on the issue. I would feel the same way as an ethnic Albanian living in Tirana, Priština, Skopje, Stockholm or any other city, town, country or territory.

Let me explain some of the reasons why I firmly believe that this is an unprecedentedly embarrassing move by creators and admins of this game:

1. For several years now you had numerous articles about this issue and you heard quite a lot about it. I am sure you noticed them since a good number of them were deleted and FP issued to the authors. So, what more views can be shared and posted that were not heard so far?

Not really caring and knowing where Albanians live
2. I am glad that Albanian community is joing this game - it is no wonder since both Serbia and Macedonia, one of the backbones of this game when it comes to number of players, have a significant Albanian community. Even better if this lead to more Albanians from Albania joining the game. So, Albanian community is not limited “to the grey areas” on your e-world map.

3. When Macedonia was introduced to the game you have not asked anyone what we thought about the name dispute. You applied the solution yourself that was based to UN agreement to certain extent adding FYROM to it.

Honestly, I don’t care if you are going to apply the same criteria as you did previously with Macedonia (relying on the UN convention) or not. I don’t care if you are going to introduce Kosovo into the game as a part of Serbia, independent state or come up with some mish-mash solution. It is completely irrelevant how I feel or how some other ethnic Albanian living there feels about this issue.

What is tragic, shocking and outrageous is that you are playing with this in order to cause a stir and bring more people here and by doing so, not actually caring about the issue, not caring how Serbs feel about it and not caring how Albanians feel about it.

Yes, we are here because we like playing this game but this does not give you authority nor right to play with how we all, being Serbian, Albanian or whatever, feel about this issue.

If you really care about what people really think about this, then I would expect that this article is not deleted.
