A Year and a Day.

eRepublik.
What I spent my time doing.
What I may end up doing in the future.

Yesterday it was brought to my attention that it was my eBirthday.

When I first signed up to eRep I found myself in a daze. It was rather boring. I would log in, click, and belt out a confused shout, wondering if any one would notice me plodding along the streets of the eEast Midlands. Fortunately, somebody did. HazzN picked me up and directed me towards the forums a few days after I came into eExistence. After signing up, and making a few posts, I began to... not visit the forums.

2 months passed, and I'd made myself a newspaper. This fine piece of newsreel which you are reading right now. After talking through ingame PM's in order to pick up scoops of what was going on in the world (a primitive way of getting sources) I decided to have a kick at congress. By now, eRep had grown on me. I'd been beaten to a pulp in Tribal Wars, Kingsage, and Ikarium. However eRepublik seemed completely different. You weren't in charge of a bunch of numbers, your existence revolved around interaction with other players. Although, when I first ran for congress, I hadn't quite got the interaction business down yet.

I always thought to myself that I'd treat this game as a game - and have fun. That's why I've made the most of elife. Had fun by whatever means and never gotten down over it. Afterall, why play a game that isn't fun? Excitement can be found in many places on erep, when I was eborn I wouldn't have dreamt that we'd be being attacked by multiple countries, yet here we are. As I've said before, and in essay format war is fun, regardless of which side you're fighting for. There are individuals from around the globe that I'd call a mate. Regardless of which country or alliance they are in, if they make me laugh and don't think things too seriously then they're doing well in life.

Needless to say I'd made a few nooby mistakes. First off joining a party just because it was the biggest. Secondly thinking I'd get elected without swinging by the forums and having some input there. Following the unsuccessful election, I decided to get on the forums, get active, and get involved. At which point I ended up talking to John Forseti, who directed me to the wiki where I found out about the TUP, the party I decided to join. This was around the same time I created my new players guide and the same month I was elected in congress for the first time. The rest, is ehistory.

Needless to say I've been around the eblock. So far I've served 7 terms in Congress, 6 terms as a Cabinet minister in the eUK's government, and 3 terms as Prime Minister at the head of the eUK's government. On a larger scale, since Phoenix was established I've served as the Deputy Secretary General, which has been one the most enjoyable jobs I've had. Not to mention my time spent as Party President, Commodore, and as an underminister. Despite this, I feel that my two greatest achievements are my newspaper, and my extensive friends list.

And of course, I'm one of the few priviliged people who's gotten to click the button to attack the eUSA's original regions.

Seeing as I'm relatively poor at FPS games, and have yet to purchase one of these 'xbox 360s' people keep talking about, the majority of the gaming I do is through my PC. This has meant I've had more time on my hands per day then people who could get distracted by cod, or haddock. This linked with the fact that eRepublik is a game that anybody can really play on a daily basis, even if you've got no interest in running for congress or entering the media (you can still show up on IRC and troll some Swedes). I've found that I can just hover around and contribute wherever I can, which eventually paid off when I was made Minister of Work.

Following that I did 3 terms an Minister of Home Affairs, which had somewhat gone into the background and shrank int he months prior to Kumnaa being elected. I took on cohorts of Under Ministers and apprentices and went reviving one of our largest ministries, PM'ing players, running games and dealing with the wiki were a few of the tasks we would take up.

Mr Woldy's Office

Since then, as most of you will remember (unless you were high) I served 3 somewhat turbulent terms as Prime Minister, and under Dishmcds I'm into my second term as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

As my newspaper approaches 1500 subscribers, I plan to beign releasing regular articles keeping everyone up to date with whats going on. On whole your newspaper is your voice in eRepublik. The use of forums and IRC is the largest contributor, but to get in touch with the public and people who you otherwise may not encounter, embracing the use of the media ingame is vital, and to say the least challenging. Throughout the year I've sent and recieved countless friend requests. If you're in my friends list then you're a cool person. What more can I say. Well - I can say sorry for my regular mental shouts and odd open letters.

What does the future have in store for me on eRepublik?

Sadly, not a lot. With some regret I can announce that I am going into

eRetirement.

I think a year is enough for anyone to be playing, and with new features such as Lana being brought into the game, it's not quite what it used to be.

Only joking. I couldn't retire. Although I like to imagine what Longbaugh thought upon reading that.

On the contrary, Once my paper tips over the 1500 subscriber mark I'll go about actively pursueing that elusive second Media Mogul medal. Having been in the eUK's government for ages, I hope I won't be leaving that anytime soon either. With a tad of luck I'll be able to release regular interesting articles, and I'm in the process of accumulating and rereleasing my set of new player guides. However I'm split over whether or not I should wait for V2 to rear it's ugly head.

There's the issue of the House of Commons, and Lords. Although I may run for another month in commons, (I don't like odd numbers) after that I'll stick around in the House of Lords. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I was around. This is mainly because spanning my entire elife I've moved out of the eUK a total of one time. And even that was because I was a noob with a newspaper who for some reason thought by moving to the country I was writing about I'd find more information and gain a unique stand point. So I'm going to have a bash at galavanting around fighting Eden people.

Finally there's the issue of running for Prime Minister again. I know a very small number of right wing activists want me to run again. So, I think I probably will. However it's not going to be for a while, several months at least. (Every time someone asks me I add a week.)

For now, stay sassy Woldy fans o/
