Les guerres de l'Amérique du Nord et le besoin crucial d'investir tout notre temps et toutes nos ressources dans la survie du pays, ont interrompu ce qui avait été à ce moment une série de 6 nominations successive au Congrès.

Je viens à vous aujourd'hui, à la recherche d’un 7e terme dans ce qui sera un retour à la politique active après avoir servi le Canada militairement ces mois derniers.

Très tôt dans ma carrière, j'ai eu l'honneur de servir comme vice-ministre des Finances sous Alexander Rearden. C'était une position où j'ai appris beaucoup mais que je reconnais aujourd'hui je n'étais pas prêt à servir.

Lors de mes élections subséquentes au Congrès, j'ai toujours insisté pour la transparence et une plus grande coopération avec le bureau du Premier Ministre. Lorsque la relation entre le PM et le Congrès est à son plus coopératifs, c'est quand le Canada réalise ses meilleurs projets. Un vote pour moi de retour au Congrès est un vote pour une voix qui travaillera sans relâche pour parvenir à cette coopération.

Les guerres et mon rôle avec le groupe de soldats Bruck ‘s Canucks ont illustré vivement pour moi la nécessité d'avoir une armée forte, active et dévouée. Il y a place au Canada pour une CAF dynamiques, alliées et coopérante avec les groupes de résistance. Je suis en mesure de faciliter cette alliance et de fusionner les l'objectifs commun. Le plus fort toutes ces forces se trouvent au Canada, plus le pays devient prospère.

Économiquement, nous vivons dans des temps difficiles. En tant que propriétaire d’entreprises de longue date dans les domaines des ressources et de la fabrication, je comprends les défis. Je comprends la nécessité d'un plan économique clair et, surtout, je comprends les buts de la classe d’affaires et peut équilibrer ces besoins avec celles des Canadiens en général. Un vote pour moi, c'est un vote pour un membre du Congrès qui peut débattre sur le système fiscal et comment il affecte tout le monde.

Le Québec est ma terre native et j'ai le privilège d'y revenir aujourd'hui et construire un partenariat solide avec le reste du pays. Une fois de plus les guerres de l'Amérique du Nord nous ont donné une leçon importante quand il s'agit de La Belle Province et c'est la nécessité d'associer activement la population française dans les rouages de notre grande nation. En tant que représentant bilingue, je peux facilement mettre vos préoccupations, questions et commentaires à mes semblables et expliquer les choses d'une manière qui reflète les aspirations des Québécois.

The North American wars and the crucial need to invest all our time and resources into the survival of the country interrupted what had been at that time a string of 6 successful Congressional nominations.

I come to you today seeking a 7th term in what will be a return to active politics having served Canada militarily the past few months.

Very early in my career I had the honour to serve as deputy minister of finance under Alexander Rearden. It was a position where I learned much but which I recognize today I was not ready for.

In my subsequent terms in Congress, I always pushed for transparency and greater cooperation with the Prime Minister’s office. When the relationship between the PM and Congress is at its most cooperative, that is when Canada realizes its best projects. A vote for me to return to Congress is a vote for a voice that will work tirelessly to bring about that cooperation.

The wars and my role with the group of soldiers in Bruck ‘s Canucks have illustrated vividly for me the need to have a strong, active and dedicated military. There is room in Canada for a dynamic CAF allied and cooperating with resistance groups. I am in a position to facilitate that alliance and merging of purpose. The stronger all these forces are in Canada, the stronger the country becomes.

Economically we live in difficult times. As a long time business owner of both land and manufacturing companies, I understand the challenges. I understand the need for a clear economic plan and most importantly I understand the agenda of the business class and can balance it with the needs of Canadians at large. A vote for me is a vote for a Congressman that can debate knowledgeably on the tax system and how it affects everyone.

Quebec is my first home and I have the privilege to return to it now and build a strong partnership with the rest of the country. Once more the North American wars have thought us an important lesson when it comes to La Belle Province and that is the need to actively involve the French population into the workings of our great nation. As a bilingual representative, I can easily bring your concerns, questions and input to my fellows and explain things in a manner that will reflect the aspirations of Quebecers.
