A Short Thank You Message

This morning, I awoke with a pleasant feeling of usefulness and purposefulness. Logging onto eRepublik, I found that I had been elected to Congress in Tasmania, making sense of the feeling. I want to extend my thanks to everyone who voted for me, your confidence in my abilities gives me pride. I promise not to let the citizens of Australia down in the next month that I serve you.
During my term, I will continue to support game mechanics over roleplaying in Congress, and vote against bills that do not serve a purpose in-game. I will do my best to rid Australia of the red-tape that inhibits the government from functioning with full efficiency. But above all, I will always hold the best interest of the citizens of Australia at heart and vote accordingly.

It makes perfect sense: there's bugger all numbers in Tazzy.
Means there are very few citizens living in Tasmania, and therefore, very few votes.
I get what it means, what I don't get is what the heck it means.
