A quick update for East Midlanders

Day 711, 12:24 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by ePocalypse

First of all, thanks very much for electing me to congress! I’m honoured to be representing you all.

It’s been a busy week for me in eRep, having also taken on other responsibilities.

There has been nothing yet of major significance to vote on. There have been votes on electing certain members to the House of Lords and votes on signing MPPs. As eRepublik are raising the cost of MPPs from 30 Gold to 100 Gold it made sense for us to get some signed before the deadline. I therefore voted yes to all MPP proposals. There have also been votes on the tax changes which have seen the VAT rates slashed and an increase in income tax to try to balance the books somewhat. I voted yes on all of the tax proposals that were made by our chancellor and went through the correct procedures in the House of Commons. I voted no to tax changes that did not follow the official procedure.

There is nothing more exciting than that to report from the House of Commons at the moment.

Now, on to my ongoing promotion of the eUK Forums. If you want to know more about what is going on then it’s the place for you. It’s also the only place to get properly involved in the military or in politics. There’s loads of other stuff to do there too. Just check out the Ministry of Home Affairs newspaper for an idea of just a few of the entertainment activities that are ongoing.

In addition to the forums, you can also get involved on irc. You can download a client such as mIRC or IceChat. If you don’t want to do that and you like to keep it simple then you can access irc from Mibbit. This will link you to the #euk chatroom. From there, if you type /join #EastMidlandsChat you will be in the East Midlands very own chat room. Sometimes it’s quite busy – other times it’s not. It’s a great place to ask questions if you need some help or to just come and have a chat. We’d love to see you in there. You can often find members of congress in there and even the current PM.

I will endeavour to keep you all updated throughout my term in congress and please feel free to PM me if you need any advice or just want to put your view across on a particular issue.

Don't forget to check out and subscribe to these government papers to keep up to date with country's goings on:
