A proposal for the development of politics in eIreland

Day 1,494, 03:33 Published in Ireland Ireland by Winston Hope Smith

Note:- the following is a discussion document...

Politics is almost dead in eRepublik due to changes in game mechanics.
It is not necessary to accept this and I am proposing a few things here to help revive the role of politics in eRepublil and in particular eIreland.

We should empower the elected Dáil and give it more powers than the game allows. How? I hear you ask.

In the Dáil as set up by Plato and his Admin junta the Dáil's powers are limited to 8 items
1. New citizen fee
2. Donate
3. Issue Money
4. Taxes
5. Minimum wage
6. President Impeachment
7. Provide citizenship
8. Natural Enemy

My proposal is we expand Government here on this forum to similitude the RL Dáil as much as possible.

We could have the Government Ministers brought to the Dáil to answers questions from the TDs
We could elect a Ceann Comhairle to manage debates
We could role play idealogical debates to RL issues...ie a Bill could be introduced to legalise abortion...the debate on such would be entertaining and we then vote here.

We then can maintain a Law book where passed Laws are held. Also we could direct the CP or Taoiseach to act in a certain way on eRep with the threat of impeachment should he/she refuse...

The possibilities are endless and for political junkies like myself addictive. It will give meaning to the Parties and while not all directly applicable to game mechanics it will not matter. New Dáils might want to repeal older laws and reverse the policy (both in game or not) of older Dáils...

To give an example of how detailed this can get the following is a link to the Law book of a region in NationStates I was part of. Remember this was almost entirely forum based as the NationStates game was very very basic, SEE COMMENT FOR LINK

Should we agree to adopt this it will take a while to be introduced. We will need to start simply and build over time.

We can once again give meaning to the Party Political structure of eIreland and in time be to the eWorld what Greece was to the real world and bring politics back in vogue.

I welcome discussion and debate, positive and negative...
