Everything that I will say is not PHX propaganda nor EDEN propaganda but words that came from my aching heart. Heed my sorrow... and spread the truth!
After shadowukcs' defeat, the EDEN group occupying our lands no longer had the motivation of controlling us any further.
No matter how much we speak and fight for neutrality, we are continuously crippled by their accusations and their arrogance that we seek to be PHX, but we do not. One of their accusations is that because of some Hungarians having Belgian citizenship who voted for Olv007, Belgium will become Phoenix, well, we are not. Yes, Hungarians may have their citizenships, but our foreign counterparts in Congress are American, Polish, and Croatians. And us, the Belgians are trying so hard to cooperate with them and help this nation share its contribution to progress.
However, certain actions and intelligence reports have proven that they no longer are interested in our neutrality and they are no longer capable of having a heart to save this damned country! And worse, they are ruining it even further!
Yesterday, 3 laws were proposed, they were undiscussed and atrocious! You can learn about them in my previous article.
Now, an even worse law has been proposed by our Croatian friend, the proposal to make the minimum wage from 2 BEF to 200 BEF!
If this is not atrocious, then what is it? My friends, our foreign counterparts WILL ruin this country, and it is about time that they will attack this Belgium and step on our hearts once again.
Certainly, if you are an EDEN supporter, you can say that PHX is a horrible entity that has oppressed others. But what does that have to do with us? They only send their people in here because EDEN wants to control this nation. We are not blocking anyone nor supporting anyone in this war. Your members respect neutrality and we will fight for neutrality. I will fight for neutrality!
And if you support EDEN, is this what you want? Supporting a thing that oppresses others! Tramples on others' hearts and existences! This is why I stopped supporting the EDEN alliance. I have fought for EDEN all my life, but look at this now, EDEN is the one destroying my nation.
But this? This is not enough for me to side with PHX. My brothers and sisters and I, although harassed by these law proposals, will not side with PHX nor with EDEN. We are neutral, and no matter how much you think I am an idiot for thinking that, I will fight for it.
I call upon every human being in this world that has a newspaper. Spread the word, Belgium is in need of your help!

Hardly understandable, really.
1. Olv has not yet taken actual steps towards PHOENIX. And don't get me started on "pre-emptive strikes". If you control the congress, they're absolutely unnecessary.
2. And the pro-EDEN factions DO control the congress. So they could yet counteract a good part of what Olv could do to bring eBelgium into EDEN, even IF he tried.
3. Regardless of whether or not the general eBelgium public and Olv were supporters of or leaning towards PHOENIX before (and I've yet to see evidence of that other than mindless, slovering shouts of mainly trolls), these actions have a good chance to turn them into such.
The EDEN PTOers are actively working hard to turn eBelgium into a PHOENIX-ally. From a purely tactical point of view, I guess I should be happy about this. That doesn't change the fact that it is a stupid action and unnecessarily hindering other people's game.
THey'm trying to destroy us from the inside , why can't they just leave us to prosper , we'm not harming anyone :/

It's not so much "imperialism" as it is the desire to defeat PHOENIX and those who seem to be allied with them. In this case, while Belgium isn't officially allied with PHOENIX, it appears to be leaning that way, and has been for a while.
Also, the part about the US being destroyed? That really doesn't help your case. It kinda supports the whole "allied with PHOENIX" thing.

Here is also the point where I mention that the leadership of EDEN really does think you're leaning towards PHOENIX, and thus, are an acceptable target. The wierd stuff they're proposing in your Congress is likely to weaken you to such an extent that you will no longer be able to aid PHOENIX should you join them entirely.
As for the country, the many people don't even know what happened here in Belgium. Others actually believe that Belgium is already a PHOENIX country. The military had news of a PHOENIX PTO attempt, and, at this point, no one is really sure if they were correct or not.
The US is not bad. I haven't even said what I think yet, so you really can't say that I'm bad. We've helped quite a few people, or are trying to help them at the moment. And the last bit I have no idea what you're talking about. What is it too late for? Did I miss the matinee?
Oh, and for the record... I honestly didn't even want to interfere in the elections. I only came because I was ordered to.

You know what EDEN's problem is?
They don't care about the people.
They doggedly pursue the in-game country's Attack and Retreat buttons for EDEN, while turning the people against EDEN.
That's not a good long-term strategy.

Wow... this is unfortunate, and I wouldn't have heard about this except for the fact that Canada's latest news feed is showing Belgian news. I agree that EDEN really should be leaving Belgium alone here.

@Lucus you might expect me to say this being Pro-Phoenix, but the US elite brainwash US troops as they do to whole nations like Ireland.
@Elynea eFrance's president refused to attack the eUS and was rewarded with the eUS giving up all of its activated mpp's against eFrance. None the less, you voted that president out of office and began, once again, to tow the PHOENIX line. The eUS stayed neutral in your conflict despite what it cost us in the eyes of our allies.
eFrance helped teach us though, what you have learned now. Neutrality is an invitation to invasion. After ATLANTIS fell apart, we tried to be neutral, and eFrance helped to destroy us. It is, in part, because of eFrance that the eUS is in EDEN in the first place. We are not to blame if eFrance chose its enemy and her allies poorly.
As for eBelgium learning to hate us. So what. eBelgium was part of PEACE, and is not part of PHOENIX soley due to the EDEN occupation and PTO. Who sinccerly believes that eBelgium would not jump right back into the UNL and PHOENIX the moment EDEN leaves. So our enemys will hate us more, go figure: which brings us too. . .
There is nothing the eUS could do that will convince the nations of the eWorld to look on us with anything better than guarded suspicion. Hating the eUS is a universal past time that defies logic, history, or charity. And, the only nations that seem to be able to resist the urge to hate the eUS on spec are already allied with us. I would never choose to risk the regard of such a rare country and friend such as eSpain to avoid a greater intensity of an already inevitable hatred on behalf of such countries as eFrance.

@ Timrugby, I know that, Im no moron. But the laws almost passed. This was an organized event, if we did not respond fast enough, this could have been a disaster.
Learn what is happening before dissing someone about propaganda. Why do you think I waited after 3 laws to be proposed before posting this article? Because we tried to talk, but more evidence came that this was indeed an organized event. Blame yourself for being ignorant about your own alliance.
To add to that, if they only wanted the xp, it is still totally unreasonable and such action is exactly trying to ruin the country. We are quite in a stage where law proposals can't be just for LULZ unlike how Congress members in eUS work. It's not the same. Also, there are 10+ days left in Congress, it is too early for stupid proposals that will obviously harm our economy! Considering that we barely have the majority thanks to the Polish and Croatians and some Americans who sided with us after long talks, those laws couldve been passed!
I spent my weekend sending messages and arguing in the IRC. There is too much that you do not know, so don't accuse anyone of propaganda because there is none here. Yes, I am trying to get people in my side, but that way, we can keep Belgium in the map, and that way, our foreign friends in Congress will know our neutrality and will know that we will fight for it.
And to add more to that, there is evidence, the private forums, messages from people in the foreign parties who got hit by their conscience and tried to help us instead. We are winning this law proposal fight thanks to the people who still have some respect for this nation and this game. I really want to thank all those who supported and ignored the so-called "contingency plan" that EDEN set forth after their candidates grave loss.
Thank you so much to all of you for stopping these proposals. However, those who stopped the crazy proposals to only boost your image or PR, no, I wont thank you. But I am still willing to work with you all.

Was Belgium not a part of the UNL by choice? Was the UNL not in PEACE. Is the Netherlands not allied with PHOENIX? Did Belgium become independent on its own accord or was it forced to be by EDEN nations against its will?

Yes, Belgium became a part of eUNL but there were separatists, and you should know that if you know Belgian history. I don't exactly know what your point is, but you are indeed missing out on many facts as Martin Stettler said.
This shows it really, that they only wanted a TO. they have upper hand in congress, but without president, and without impeachment, they cant attack as they wanted, so they ruining the country.
I voted for Olv007, because hes the best for this country. Bfb was lead bye Belgian, they are in the forums, trying to cooperate. Eden parties were nowere, wasnt a single belgian running for congress in their parties. They care nothing about Belgium...

I am an eAmerican ordered to Belgium for an anti-PTO attempt. I think I can speak for the vast majority of Americans when I say that we truly wish peace with Belgium and support your nation's desire for neutrality. I also understand the concern that my superiors have, and I share, of a PHX takeover of Belgium. Your people don't want that and neither do ours. So our operation was meant to be just and even-handed, not what it has apparently become.
I have no idea why that non-Belgium-born politician is trying to undermine your country with so little disregard to EDEN strategy or game fun. It’s self defeating and eliminates what little support your people had for EDEN's anti-PTO operation.
I will continue to follow my military orders but on a personal level I hope that such orders serve both our peoples in the future. I with you and all true Belgians happiness and good fortune in future eRepublik days.
