A NRB look at: Politics of eNorway, the NCL and the PP-election of March 2013

Hello good fellow citizens of eNorway and foreign spectators!
Todays edtion of NRB is about politics in eNorway, the NCL and friday's PP-election in general.
The diversity of the eNorwegian political scene, or rather the lack of it
I write this little note to enlighten and to warn of a possible bad future.
Our eNation is small, that is a fact, therefore a certain level of agreement in the populace wouldn’t be too concerning.
But our political diversity is not moderate or even low; it is EXTREMLY low.
New faces in the political scene are rare and activity is fairly low.
Of course this again, is atleast to a certain degree, tied to our number of citizens.
This also leads to the infamous “elite”, that some players have been complaining about.
And there will certainly always be an “elite” as long as noone bothers to organize themselves, ingame and/or metagame, to grab power through the means avalible game-wise.
So... Young players, please hear my call and spread the word!
We need every active citizen that we can get, to contribute to the politics of eNorway.
TALK, in between and organize yourselves, ask us older players for advice and communicate with your PartyPresidents for prioritizing around the congress and CountryPresident-elections!
Also noone of the different parties seems to have any different oppinions.
(I will take critisism on that charge, as I have not been good to my own party myself).
Our political scene could need someone to shake up the enviroment and light the fire around debates.
Some of them goes on ingame through news-articles or by pm, and/or through posts on the forum, www.erepublik.no
This is my two cents, and are not meant to be a solution, but to spark ideas and a debate.

The condition of the NCL and me running for re-election
Like last month, as noone have gone out to publically challenge me, then I run for re-election as usual.
My program is nothing at all for the coming month, as I am fairly strained at work with long days and trying to get other RL-stuff done..
If someone would really like to challenge me for the PP-chair in NCL, then please do so!
If you can come up with some good ideas for the party, that being as the NCL or not, do not fear to publicise them.
Untill that happens, then I will keep running for PP in the NCL and hopefully keeping the party in loyal eNorwegian hands!

It is the same problem in eGermark. The majority complains about the politicians, but themselves, they aren't willing to do anything.
But Versuchskaninchen main problem is that young players are shy and they keep away from other players!
For example I am old only 53 days and I allready had been >MoD,vMoD,Congress Member,vPP and now I am candidate for PP.
I know I owe much to Vileskont and Bob Turkee for that but as I can notice we have plenty space for new politicans but we do not have them.

Many players from other countries asks me alot how did I become Congress member so fast and stuff like that, as in their countries to become congress member you must play for years! We give chance to everyone. But candidates should be active(socialize , for start send FR to every Norway player so you will be able to communicate with them in your friends feeds , make some events with other players and stuff like that)
I hope you and other readers understand my following english translation...
New players need to be properly introduced in all of the three modules (war, eco, politics) from the beginning. That's not a criticism at the norwegian politicians/politic/government or other things.
The "right" introduction to the game is the most important part to keep players active in the game.
But the smaller countries like eNorway and also eGermany/eGermark have problems to keep there players active.
Cause there are not so many intersting things in politics.
In my opinion eNorway is a good "testfield" for new players to get experience in the political parts and government jobs.
You are a young player, i'm also a young player (103 days).
We are the part of the few, who were interested not only in the war module or play the game as 2clickers.
In eGermark we have at the IRC a special-channel (#eger.help@rizon) for the new players. The helpdesk answered the questions of the players and they also tried to bring the political part closer to the "newbies".
For me, the warmodule is on the second place, from the beginning i was more interested in the political module. So i get the PP of my party at the second month of my eLife and start to be in the congress with a seat from one of the Top5-parties.
I think the most players don't want invest so many time in a browsergame.
The political part and/or the government parts cost more time than the 25clicks for the daily order or the 5 clicks to work and sell my products.
From week to week my Channellist on IRC get one or two new channels.
To read all the stuff and to be active and participate at talks about political, economic or war things cost me the most time of my free time after work.
Many players don't have this time (e.g. family, sport activites) or don't want to spend so much time for a browsergame.
I see, i repeat my arguments.

This has been a problem since the great norwegian empire fell. The last time I can remember there was some real action in the politics (not conting PTOs) was when (former) Emperor Xenius Scorpicus 1. revived the Binary Party.
I think I have made my fair part of action in the political scene, but I am getting tired of that it always has to be me. And you don't normally get popular by opposing others😛
However there is different political views out there. I am for a 100% open border, let anyone in, welcome them and hope it turns out well. Make friends out of unkowns, not enemies, turn PTOs into cooperations. I know I don't have any support in this so I haven't pushed it but maybe I should 🙂
I have actually started to share your point of view in this fredrikz. More activity in eNorway no matter where they come from in RL Life makes the game more exciting. RL Norway is becoming more and more multicultural, so i see no harm in doing the same in eNorway.
I think that our borders are open now> we give 7/20 Norway CS and we will give more for sure in this month(before new congress elections).
We should not give our CS to everyone but we can select players who could help Norway either military, politics,economic or journalism.
Well, how long before we can kiss our Bank Savings goodbye then?
That can easily be defended, we know the tricks now. We now know the limits of the admins and so on🙂

I've seen you as both the good, the bad and the grey-area guy, even in my little time as an eRep-player.
There are different voices with different oppinions out there, true that, but they are seldom heard.
The most likely reason for me, is that those some hold back because the fear of the older players, as we have been nit-picking on "fresh" players before...
Also this reflects back to me, as I have handled immigration for a total of 6months during my time as a player.
My stance have mostly been the one of a "slightly" paranoid skeptic, probably as I "grew up" during the Serb PTO.
Ultimately, it is still the congress's decision if they feel like accepting or rejecting applicants, but I do guide their choices most of their time.
I try now to post more and more neutral "facts" and rather let the congress decide their fates...
But as we also can see, probably proving my point that we are inbreeding, is that almost all of the congress-members this month, is also a part of the current goverment...

Chill , if you are not a PTO have fun here🙂 No reason to go crazy. In Norway you are a PTOer if you are from serbia, that is status quo. And I don't think your kind words is making people change their belives🙂
I just want an adequate evidence for any type of charges, that's all ..
Of course, we play and I'm totally relaxed and cool 🙂
