I would like to see more articles published in-game, rather than a new thread created on the private forums. We can use the comment section for discourse that every eIrish citizen will have access to.

We can use the in-game tools to increase communication. Many people are hesitant to sign up for extraneous sites, for a myriad of reasons.

We can write articles.
We can comment in articles.
We can shout.
we can comment on shouts.
We can in-game mail.
We can use a military unit feed.

It is true that admin have being making it easier for ingame communication but I hope they change the news filter to allow you to see top voted not the current system. Tbh it is improving a lot but lets hope they continue it.

I agree with Bhane, forums is a bit too much for people and leave many out of the blue......

I am away from my computer this is why I could not write a detailed news about your dictatorial rule and fascism, but first thing you should learn is to get rid of FASCIST and DICTATORIAL rules beyond all.

You accuse people for being a `mole` without any proof, and you take the access of a TD as you wish, and when you take the response that you deserve you just ban people from forum and delete their accounts as well as their posts.

You can't go around saying things like:

That's just not kosher mate. Especially in a nation already dealing with a PTO organization!

tekosin, everyone in Ireland should be thanking Canada who could have easily sold us out and sided with the UK, but instead put their own neck on the line for us, because they are long time ALLIES who have always been there for us. Rentals are a huge part of this game and you obviously are not experienced enough to see that this rental also plays a pivotal role in our DEFENCE. Without it, it is very possible that ALL of our regions will be under occupation again by a HOSTILE entity(and some of them already could have been by now) It has also allowed us to prevent known enemies of the state from getting congress seats this term.

Canada in Shannon is good for Ireland Militarily, Diplomatically, Economically and Politically, to claim otherwise suggest you are blinded by real life pride. Renting Shannon is just good eRep logic.

Furthermore, before any regions were rented to anyone, we held a public poll and 74% were in favour of renting, so for you to to suggest renting is dictatorial is absolutely absurd. Democracy CANNOT be subverted in this game. The ingame political module is based on democracy. Most votes=wins elections. Anyone who cries on about democracy etc are just role-playing faggots. Marcus is the elected President. It just so happens that each of the last 5 democratically elected Presidents were openly pro-rental. None of the past 5 democratically elected Congress have seen anything near a majority for anti-rental.

Also you should know that rentals or not, marcus and myself and others put 100s of Gold into this place, always have and always will. So stop pretending your special about your willingness to do that(I'm not even sure if you have ever donated anything) so your dig at him suggesting he wouldn't put money into Ireland was an ill-thought cheap shot.

And when I say military means, I mean strategically. If Canada were not in Shannon we would be under invasion from the UK right now as we speak. By preventing the UK war from starting we have shown maturity that the UK has not, and therefore we have gained respect internationally whilst the UK have lost any shred of credibility they had left. We are not hiding believe me. When the UK do attack then they are going to be in for the fight of their lives.

Back to the topic, I have a proposal(like somthing): maybe you could consider expanding the government by some kind of civil servant like bodies. The idea came to me thinking about economic affairs. We have some really interesting research going on, like DGlennon's market prices research, maybe I can even dare mentioning my own initiatives, and time by time ppl come up with new ideas, surveys and stuff. Maybe formal groups of players open for any newbies interested in various affairs like the economy, military or foreign affairs and working in formalized cooperation could come handful in a role of a background advisory group for ministers - keeping the decision making in the hands of elected or appointed officials, but sharing the background work of research, analysis and planning with those who have a certain interest in various aspects of the game but not quite interested in running for political positions. I, for one, would be much interested in something like that.

Man thats a savage idea, this is what this article was all about. Stranger I have two days off work when I finish tonight and man id be delighted to work on getting this up of the ground its a great idea.

There is a huge amount of talent in Ireland that we should all try utilize.

Well, it's not much of an idea yet, just thinking aloud. What I imagine is a kind of extension of the existing advisory positions. When they were announced, I did not apply because the duties included some stuff I'm not at all interested in, and I thought the whole stuff would be too much considering the time I could spend with it. If those functions would not be assigned to individuals, but to some less formal, yet to some extent official groups, task could be divided and everyone involved could contribute in the fields they are really interested in. Besides, the whole stuff could function as a kind of political-social greenhouse, with beginners invited to get involved, meeting and interacting more experienced players, gaining an insight to how things work and later adding their own ideas and observations to this collaborative structure.

Try keep the discussion to a respectable standard guys.

@Irishboy: Babybooms are generally occuring after wipe outs. For Israel, Greece, Turkey and many other countries at least. But what do we offer people here in eIreland? A brilliant trade? Or something exciting? Why should people sign up for the game, any reason?

Strategically talking we are in a very isolate place, and our only option is to deal with UK. But all we do is trying to prevent something and be seen as a small child of eCanada. OK, aid of friends are always welcomed but soon or late eUK will attack us and what is our option if Canada is not here?

I fear someday we will vote for accepting to live under eCanada or some other nation.

Tekosin, we been wiped before, no babyboom. Wars with UK and battles for Northern Ireland, no babyboom. Baby booms take effort and work and money wouldn't hurt either. They aren't gunna just happen cos a bunch of pixels got erased on an internet map.

What do we offer people? e-Ireland has never been about how many regions we have on a stupid map. It's the community and the social aspect that keeps people here. That's the part that mirrors real life Ireland.

Are the USA the small child of Canada? Cos like I said they have done the very same thing for them this week.

eIreland was the greatest and most fun country I have lived in.

Irishboy, I am aware that the virus called nationalism is not popular in Western Europe, but a few pixels really meant a lot for Balkans, where Greece, Turkey and also Israel made their babybooms with it. Just take a look at Cyprus now, there is a babyboom there for the past 1 month.

Till now, except the ethnical Irish, only people who adore Ireland in RL has signed up or migrated here, but again most of the people I know left Ireland since they thought it was extremely boring and economically down.

US does not seems to be a child of Canada, but Ireland does. Some Balkan nations has newspapers in their local languages and in their analysis Ireland is always seen as a small protectorate of Canada. Which makes me really unhappy as an eIrish.

And one thing I wonder, apart from Canada, who will gonna help us in a possible UK war? Do we have any *real* allies?

Personally, the only Balkan articles I have seen regarding Ireland recently have been to say thanks to Ireland for helping to free their country from Serbs.

Also, I'm not sure if you are getting my point on baby-booms. What I meant was, last original region wiped from map does not = 10k population the next day. It also takes all of the things I mentioned and probably a lot more besides.
