A little bit of explaining..

Day 2,903, 20:14 Published in New Zealand New Zealand by Koska de STRAH

So much to tell..not even sure from where to start. Unfortunately my current RL situation don`t leave me with to much space to wrote, but since i am the one of most informed and influential eNZ citizens i fell obligated to wrote a word or two about our current situation.

First allow me to introduce myself. Most of you know me very well but i notice few incomers and from that reason i need to tell something about me.

I came on eNew Zealand one hour after the eNZ introduction in to the eRepublik world, with my current MU. Lot of time passed since that, and during that time i had many roles in eNZ political life. Most of the time i was dealing with economy and i spend more that 3 years as Minister of Finance. Proud founder and commander of MU "Srpski Korpus" and member and founder of PP "Ujedinjenje ili Smrt".

Current eNew Zealand situation is... well let`s say that we had better days. No congress, no army, no funds and no government. This is not new situation and there is no one to blame, several factors shaped this: changes in game, some people leave, lack of activity, etc...

We can say that every major change in game mechanic effect negatively on eNew Zealand, one example is introducing TP medals. How? Well average soldier from allied country will always choose to fight for his country. MPP`s are not powerful as they were. If you want to provide help from the allies you need to set CO, in other words you need money a lot of it. Ok now you gonna say: "Yes but we need it and before". Right! Back in a day we were spending 100k cc on a daily bases, plus we had 20 MPP`s. But we had daily income of 200k CC. We had open wars with several countries (eNZ has the worst possible geoposition) at the same time and yet we were always manage to stay on the eMap. In that period game mechanic was different and our finance team had ways to earn the money. Then? Then the game mechanic has changed, cash flow drop significantly, people start to leave chasing higher bonuses. Some time passes, get adapted, set the new strategy, bring some people back, things start to move forward, but then... some new game mechanic get implemented and in a no time things get worse then ever. I really don`t have time right now to get into the specifics but with the Air Strikes and new Dictator mode we are in more danger than ever.

Solutions?

There is some and i will drop some ideas here. Now let me get back to the base subjects of the article i went to far with an intro.

What is happening on eNZ?
Why we don`t have a congress?
Dictator mode: Good or bad? Yes or no?
Future "UIS" CP election politics ?

eNew Zealand today:

Regions: 0
MPP: 0
Country account: 15k NZD
Debt: 40k NZD
Ongoing projects: 1 (value 1,5k GOLD under the Ministry of Finance)
Major enemy: Peru

Few months ago we had an agreement with Chile and Peru. We were ranting them our land. Two regions to Chile and one to Peru and one was left to us. Not a bad agreement for the country that has 10 active players. We had one region for congress and from renting we were getting more money then that we would from collecting taxes. At the time we had 4 MPP`s with Serbia, Slovenia, Argentina and Hungary. Then we decide to keep just one - Serbia to cut expenses we had no wars and we had an agreement with major force in our region - Chile. We lost our Serbian MPP due the deal with Peruvians because we had the same allies and we needed open war with them at one point, and there were few other situation when our land was used as a landing spot for allies. Last time eRomania had used our land as a landing spot. When they went we manage to set an agreement with eAustralia to have an open training war. The plan was: Continue with region rent to Chile and Peru and keep the training war with eAustralia open.
What went wrong?
Peruvians march on our land no questions asked (yes they were our allies and they wanted to talk with us but after 40 days but we are done talking with them) occupied 3 regions (one is under eChile) and they are holding them since then.
Where our money goes? Well we were spending money mostly on raising several RW`s and they are quite expensive, you need 11k NZD just to open one, so do your math.

Let me say a few words about dictator mode and how it affect on eNew Zealand. Implementing dictator mode in to the game mechanic bring along some good and some bad things at the same time.
Good things?
When you have less then 10 active players willing to read their messages and vote on some proposal made by the government it is a good thing that you can act instantly and sometimes, believe me, there are no time for explaining to do. One more good thing is that now active player can hold the Dictator position and control over the country and you can reward some players with CP medal at the same time.
Bad thing?
Bad thing is that now any eRep player with a little money can raise an Dictator war here and take total control over the country. So now you need to keep the country from outside and inside, double pressure on our country is the last thing that we need. You might say that the bad thing is that too much power goes to the one person, well basically it is the same if you have the control over the 3/4 of the congress you have the total control.
So if you asked me Dictatorship or Democracy i will go for Dictatorship in this one.

About politics and future CP candidate support...

As the founder and a member of the largest eNZ Political party "UIS" i get asked every month to support someone for CP elections. Sometimes we do, sometimes we don`t. Now before i continue i just need to tell that we never took a dime in exchange for support someone on CP elections. And we supported CP candidates from every eNZ PP`s over the years. We mainly supported players who deserve that position based on their contribution to the eNew Zealand. How it works? Well u had a guy who is "been around" sometimes little bit more, sometimes little bit less, active on eNew Zealand, often a congress member, government member and he expresses a wish to become a CP, or he was just a "Good soldier" someone who is always there when you need him or someone who always do what he`s been asked to do, no questions asked. It is naturally that you want to reward those players, sometimes they are not the best "CP material" but hey! Тhis is just a game. Last year when i get back in to the game i decided to stop supporting players who won`t be active, and that stands and today (due the dictator period we did supported less active players, because CP position lost it`s weight). Long story short - from now on we shall give priority to the people who are willing to pay the CP medal over the other candidates. Why? I will explain it soon.

Now Lets get back to the solutions, can we manage to raise eNew Zealand above this current situation? Yes we can.
We can`t change game mechanic so let`s see what we can do inside current rules. What we need? Simple. People to fight for us. How to find people to fight for us? Set a large CO, so we need money. How to get money? Use RL money to buy? Not an option for us. Tax collection, monetary market? Tax collection is too low no matter how you set up the taxes, for the high tax income you need to have high country population, earning money with monetary market is to low and to slow. So what is left? What we have to offer? Just a regions and rare medals. Some other small countries do this. I never liked that but as i see it there is no other way.
First thing that we need to do is to make a government (active players), outside the game mechanic and to act united. Why we need to get united? Because we have barely 10 active players and we don`t have that level of luxury to act uncoordinated.
One example Revolutionary war that we had last month. Revolution was raised without announcement it came out of the blue. Why that was a bad thing? The revolution war costs money just like the dictator war, but it is doable if you pull it out on the right way to earn some money, how? Don`t have time to wrote specifics, but the key words are cooperation and unity. We have some bad relationships here (between some our major players) but i honestly believe that we can overcome that and i made some moves towards fixing that issues.
Making the government outside game mechanic is the key thing, that government should be the nucleus of eNew Zealand, persons with CP and Dictator medals should be just a minions, just one part of the mechanism. Who should be in the Government? All influential citizens, MU commanders, PP leaders, etc...

I know that i was talking more-less in generally, but i have a plan for better eNew Zealand that i will present to some people if they are willing to participate. Some things i can`t trow in public, like how we are gonna free our country from the Peruvians, why we are not asking for help, and what will it be our next move after we get liberated. We have a plan. It is not that hard to get liberated, it is hard to keep the country on the map.
I hope that i did not bored you too much with this, keep your heads high eNew Zealand shall rise again.
